Beautiful! My husband has a standing joke where he always says there’s trout in that their stream you just have to walk down the hill and catch it! Hi Jim. Love this video. Waited a long time for another Algonquin canoe trip. Love your comment about Shawn's early May swim. True, so true. We ladies do love watching Shawn strut his stuff. But you're no slouch you know. You're our superman out there who can do it all. Can't wait to see the finished long house and maybe a corn roast with all the families camping out there. Epic video. The scenery was amazing as was the fishing. Couldn’t of picked a greater guy to spend the day with than Shawn. Fun to watch both versions and yes Jim it’s about quality time outdoors not who catches the most fish. Lol. Really appreciate all the hard work and time that goes into making these. Probably cuts your day in half with all the filming but was spectacular to watch. Thanks🥰
@JimBairdAdventurer4 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot, ya the filming does take up time and I’ve learned to try to shoot in the fly as much as possible and it sort of becomes mechanical after a while. It’s the batteries and charging them out there that are the biggest pain on longer trips.

Very nice video, as well as the one from Shawn, was very great. Laugh, Jim while fishing, it's not about beauty, it's about whether you're lucky or not. You've always eaten princely, so, it was a success. When I go for catfish, I often use bloody cow livers as bait. I've had big pike perch on the same pooch. Worked pretty good in rivers. Ihr lebt in einem sehr schönen Land, wirklich richtig schön. Greetings from Frankfurt
@SWAMPHUNTER6444 жыл бұрын
I used to use small gold or silver spinners with a worm, depending if it was sunny or overcast. If it was a rocky bottom and I got hung up, I put the splitshot at the very end of the line to sacrifice. If on a lake I could troll, a lake clear spinner and muddler minnow fly or worm worked well. If crawfish got your line hung up and you could get them out, the white meat part of the tail was good bait for brook trout. I left a bit of exoskeleton to keep it on the hook. I have a small collapsible handle foldable net for trout that would fit in a pocket, plastic frame. Not sure if they are still available.

Really enjoyed the video! Especially since I did a trip there with some friends back in May 2018. I think you and Shawn had lunch on our campsite! (Don't worry, I won't divulge the location). Too bad you didn't get further in; if you were going to the lake I think you were, you're right about it holding trout. We did a day trip there from our camp and my friend caught two beauties there 18" and 19". We had them for dinner back at the camp that night.

I'm liking you guys more cos your reply at least. Also your spouses are often with you... and i just watched you and your wife with Wesley camping in the snow!! Loved that so much. Your wife is amazing... power to the woman..lol (More of the 3 of you vlogs please). I'm so envious of your adventures. I think Seans wife is a bit more of a delicate lady. However his vlogs are really just about him and his dreams. You guys have a different approach to adventures. Dont ever stop. 👍

Of course, we don’t get the views and amount of comments Sean does but I know he reads as many comments as he possibly can even if he doesn’t reply. Ya, my wife Tori is awarding and string and tough and a really hard worker. We just did a video yesterday on our property where we had to take off high branches from surrounding trees in order to get more light on our vegetable garden. We’re going to do a family canoe trip next week too.
