Why are the english subtitles incorrect
@flyboy1523 ай бұрын
Because they are the captions that KZbin creates on-the-fly, not the captions actually included with the DVD (or streaming copy) of the movie. YT captions are terrible, especially with British accents. Watching Downton Abbey clips with them on is hilarious.
@NibblyBitz3 ай бұрын
@@flyboy152 I would believe you if it said English (auto generated) but there is an option for "English"
@flyboy1523 ай бұрын
@NibblyBitz You don't get how it works. The signal that provides subtitles/closed captions is stripped off at the playback device, and is not part of the video when it's uploaded to YT. So, for all clips, you're seeing YT's crappy speech-to-text algorithm results. Note that for full movies, you might get the correct subtitles, since they are uploaded differently. The way to tell is to turn on English subtitles in an English-language movie. If all you're seeing is the dialogue, then it's KZbin. If you're seeing closed captions, then it's the original.
@NibblyBitz3 ай бұрын
@@flyboy152 Being that you have never uploaded a video, I'm under the impression you may not understand how it works either. The auto generated captions are always post video moments after when the algorithm is done. The automatic captions are processed in whatever default language is set on the account. These aforementioned captions come under the label "English (auto-generated)" Now on to the uploaded closed captions that are labeled "English" (have a look) are uploaded by MovieCLIPS or created by the community depending on what MovieCLIPS has chosen. These captions have nothing to do with youtube at all at the base level and are accurate captions based on the movie as you can see when you enable them. But the issue is they are out of sync for the clip in mention. TLDR. They are not auto generated but out of sync.

Which one? Kurt Russell's love drama with his failing marriage or Baldwin's love drama with Rachael Leigh? The former I thought was pretty engrossing when taken with the other aspects of Kurt's character. Baldwin's however, I kinda agree it seemed like an unnecessary tack on. I mean he already had the rivalry with his brother and peer pressure. You didn't really need his love interest to be added into that.
@user-ve5ln5le9y2 жыл бұрын
The romantic drama could have been done much better, but I think Baldwin was out of his depth and JJL was miscast. This was an unusually mainstream Hollywood movie for her, she usually does more quirky dark films like the hitcher and Single White Female. Rebecca deMornay was great though even it was a small part. In fact all the supporting cast was terrific except Leigh she was kind of cold.

Let's talk about reality. Backdraft is a great movie. Except that the firefighting shown was already ancient history. The scenes where Stephen rushes into fire without water for a firefighter let alone a lieutenant was a joke. I worked on a Rescue Squad in 1988, as a Paramedic Firefighter it was our job to rescue people in a burning building, whilst the firefighters on the engines and trucks would deal with the fire, those of us on the Rescue Squad enter the building with or without the firefighters and water. We search quickly and effectively, we get everyone out including ourselves. The key principal is that our lives are of value. We spent more than enough keeping the same number of victims alive.
