@theFireman364 So true, from day 1 in the academy we learned that you never leave your partner's side. I have instilled this same philosophy in my two boys. No matter what is going on, you always stay next to each other and help each other....NO EXCUSES. We were in a burn tower many months ago, but lost a pair of our firefighters because someone didn't communicate a message. As scary as it was for a minute or so, the pair that were seperated never left each other and found their way out.

Stupidest, most unrealistic fire movie ever made......and for a kicker, here he is holding his guy by one hand while hanging by his other hand, in a fully involved fire no less ! Try hanging by one hand and then think about holding the weight of a man by the other hand. And no heat, no smoke......this movie is a joke
@Smmmile5 жыл бұрын
People watch movies usually to escape real life. They want something epic, amazing, courageous and principled. Trying to balance that against a plausible storyline is the Director's job whose effort you can judge based on the success of this movie. In the end it' s not a documentary, just fantasy.
@280StJohnsPl5 жыл бұрын
@@Smmmile This could have been a great movie if the effort was made to add realism. It could also have been an added public fire safety message. Real fires with real smoke etc would have a bigger effect on the audience. Being inside a burning building needs no special effects, they are pretty scary on their own. IMO, this movie is an insult to real firefighters.....a FF who is an arsonist and kills people, the brother who has a girl in the hosebed of the Engine, etc. And no one runs through fire like Kurt Russell did without getting seriously burned. Adding some special effects is OK, but they go too far. Ron Howard did a disservice to real firefighters here, the Chicago FD is a great traditional department, I can't believe they allowed their FFs to be portrayed this way FDNY Retired
@Smmmile5 жыл бұрын
I can imagine you cringing throughout those parts of the movie. Perhaps Astronauts cringe through Ron's vision of Apollo 13 too. I see you're retired FDNY, so thank you for your service to your nation.
