Just shows that the deals are out there to be had on market place, I have picked up many items from there for resale. Well done on Sales, but the star of the show was your Gran at 94!!! Thanks for sharing Mel......

Yes marketplace is great for buying things to sell. Most people selling on it just want to move it out of their house fast! Especially those moving house. Yes granny 94yrs. Wow that’s a great age isn’t it. She’s amazing. Thanks for watching

Great haul - to think years gone by you used to ignore a lot of easy book sales chasing those elusive bolo brand name shoes and clothes. We went into the shop Sunday to make sure we didn't have too many to package on Tuesday. Lions club book sale on Saturday- yippee

I got a huge haul of 11 boxes of children’s/teens novels from the 70s/80s & 90s from a lady clearing out her parents shed. These are mostly in full sets, pristine condition with some still in the original wrapping. For how much you ask..... FREE!!! Only catch was I had to drive a 50km round trip.... a deal of a lifetime!!

Hey Mel! Do you work out what size mailer the books will need (to know how by being shipping will be) whilst working out the listing price ?
@backfromburnout3 жыл бұрын
All my books are sold with free shipping so I just use whichever size is needed to post but because I have been posting books for so long now I very rarely make an error when estimating the size of the book and what size padded mailer is needed. Occasionally I might pay for a small and it needed a medium but not very often do I make a error of judgment when printing out packing labels prior and choosing shipping size. Hope that makes sense

Thanks for another great video Mel :) just wondering do you always photograph the actual books or do you use the stock photos from eBay?
@backfromburnout3 жыл бұрын
No no, never use stock photos on pre-owned items. eBay can suspend you if you do that it's against the rules. You can learn more by watching this video I made which explains it and shows you eBay's exact rules. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jp_IpJ6beZ5pf8k

I know you have said a warehouse would be more expensive but I just wonder how much time a warehouse with everything in permanent stations would save you.
@backfromburnout3 жыл бұрын
It would definitely help but the good thing here is I keep all the tables set up so I can pull them in and out easily and i utilise all the corridor while I’m working. I’ve got pretty good systems working for the jobs that need to be done that don’t have permanent stations. The shipping table however I couldn’t live without. That is a must for any seller. :)
@ashleyr87653 жыл бұрын
@@backfromburnout that is good you have enough space to at least leave the tables up. With your goals and work ethic it won't be long before you need that warehouse! I am just really getting back into reselling and trying to refine spaces and processes is a full time job by itself.
@backfromburnout3 жыл бұрын
@@ashleyr8765 oh it really is. I feel like it’s taken me a long time to get into the right system and work flow but I think I’m getting close after tweaking things often. Trying to get the flow right has slowed down my growth a little but I finally feel on track and in more control now. I also think making the decision to focus on only one eBay store has helped me a lot.
@twotwinningcavs3 жыл бұрын
Do you leave the clear wrapping on the books when you ship or is it just for you?
@backfromburnout3 жыл бұрын
I leave it on because it helps hold the books together in the package. It stops the multiple books slipping around in the mailer. :)
