Hey Mel, This is a very powerful video. You have a lot of people who are in your corner and who support you, both close to home & all over the world. Literally all over the world, think about that for a minute. That's how large of an impact you have made, you are worth it & you bring more to the table than anybody will ever be able to measure. I for one, value your friendship immensely & if you ever need anything you know my wife & I will always be there. We both miss you. Keep fighting the good fight. I appreciate everything you do. You're the best.

I don't know exactly why, but Tech's comment made me tear up. He's just a good caring person, and I'm happy he's in your life. I think you've hit upon a wonderful subject to talk about... money! I don't know what investing looks like in Australia, but that's what Google is for. I hope you look into that. On a smaller scale, you should also consider throwing a small amount into cryptocurrency. A small amount into some high risk crypto can result in life changing money. Other investments can center on blue chip companies. Everyone should invest. Do the research and decide on a schedule for investing, maybe weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. It's called DCA, an acronym for Dollar Cost Averaging. This way, regardless of the current cost of your investments, you will buy when it's low and also when it's high, and it will average out. The most important thing to know about money is to PAY YOURSELF FIRST. Before the bills, before entertainment, pay yourself first. If you do it last, I can promise there will be multiple reasons why you can't that week, or month. Do it first and it will always happen. Don't burden yourself with credit card debt. The more you learn, the more you know, the more you'll grow. Love you ❤❤❤

Mel you will make it. My first marriage lasted 13 years. My wife said she didn't want to be married to me anymore and asked me to leave. I took my bed and stereo. Then I met Patty, my second wife. We where married 32 years. Together we had an Ebay store. I lost her to cancer a year and a half ago. Sitting alone in a 4 bedroom home, where do I go from here. I had my stuff but I wanted Patty. Then along came Anne. I dated her 51 years ago in high school. Now she fills my life. I believe God brought Tom in your life for a reason! Surround yourself with family and friends. The road is bumpy and sometimes rough but there is light at the end of the tunnel.

I left my husband in March of 2019 after 13 years of marriage. It was so freeing. I started over then. Then my brother died in 2020 and had to move to be closer to my mom. 2 years later I met who I thought was the love of my life. January 15, 2022 was our first date. Wonderful year. Then came 2023. I never thought anything would be worse than 2020. 2023 I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. My job went south. My relationship broke up. Didn't see any of that coming. Started a new job at the end of 2023 and moved in 2024. Health is getting better. Job is challenging so it's taking up all my time. New church. New friends plus my ride or die friends. Life changes constantly. I want to be stable. I need to exhale. Im with you Mel!!!

My husband of 24 years abruptly left without warning Jan 2018. I was 59. I actually thought I was going to die due to the blindside. Like you, I had to completely start over. Good thing I knew how to do it from previous tragedies in my life. I had a few “starts from nothing” in my life. This time though, I moved forward in a solid relationship with God. I didn’t have to struggle as I have a good career. Fast forward 6 years - I’m perfectly fine. I listened to Gloria Gaynor “I Will Survive” sung it on the top of my lungs for the first few months. You will survive! You have your children. You’re still young. This is your chance to do life your way. You might feel lost right now. Unsure of yourself, your decisions. Feelings of loss are pervasive. Feelings of rejection unshakable at times. Grief comes in waves 🌊 and demands your complete attention when you least expect it. Large task ahead of you, but when you find smooth sailing one day - you’ll be so grateful-to yourself and the process. You’ll be amazed & proud who you are, and of your accomplishments. Lean on those you love & who love you. Expect that it will take some time. This is different than a death - yet the same. Allow grief. If you shut it down - it will just come out harder & uglier at some other time. You’ve been part of a couple for 2.5 decades - now you get to do things your way. You’re going to LOVE the new you! ❤

Mel, I understand how you feel. My mom kind of went through what you're going through. She was 46 years old when my dad died of a massive heart attack at 52. They had 5 kids and four of us were married and out of the house and she had my 15-year-old brother left to raise on her own. Mind you my mom had never had a full-time job outside the house. She was devasted and didn't know where to start. She only had a 7th grade education. A neighbor helped her get a job at the hospital where she worked as a nurse's aide, and I talked her into taking a night class to get her GED. She had to learn all the shorthand terms for drugs to administer to patients. It was a lot, but I helped her study until she got it down. She kept saying she wasn't smart enough to get a full-time job because of her education level. I told her you have raised 5 kids. That takes skills that you've learned and applied to everyday living that you can use on a job. You have to budget your money to pay bills, to buy groceries and gas for the car. You know how to multitask to get several things done at once. (Clean house, wash clothes, wash dishes prepare and cook meals, etc.) You've had to manage 5 kids - keep them going by scheduling all the things they are involved in - which means you know how to manage your day and people. After telling her all of this she sat back and reevaluated her life skills and realized she had a lot to offer someone in a full-time job. She didn't have to work long though because she met a really nice man who was widowed, and they got married within a year and he told her she could quit her job which she did promptly! 😂 By the way they had 35 years together before she passed away. I'm just telling you all of this because you are so much more ahead of her in your life and in your business than where she started, and I know you're going to make it. I know it's scary and seems impossible, but you are strong, and you can do this!! Good Luck in your future endeavors and I'm looking forward to watching more videos from you about all of your trials and tribulations - because if any of us live long enough that's what we all go through, and it's called life. You will have sad times and happy times and I pray you enjoy the journey along the way. Like some of the other responses say if you need to vent because you've had a hard day, or something didn't go as planned that's alright because we're here for you anytime.!!!

Congratulations on your new home. I can’t even begin to imagine the emotional roller coaster you have been riding. As a full-time business owner and a part-time reseller, I highly recommend reading Profit First by Mike Michalowicz and Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace. These books (especially Profit First) changed my business and personal life completely in less than 5 years. Our business loan, our house, our vehicles and all of our debt was paid off because of these 2 books. I’m not much of a reader but Profit First is an easy, light-hearted read, so don’t let the title fool you. BTW, love your new place.

It truly makes us stronger and opens doors we never knew existed. You're amazing and you've got this! Your home is so very lovely and feels fresh and full of future happiness. Keep the fish tank. Ladies!! We women are stronger, smarter, and oh so brave. I left a 20 marriage with four young boys, three of which are mine and one nephew. It was tough. We lived in a two bedroom duplex, and I had zero furniture. I'm now 61 yrs old, boys are grown with their own families. Guess what? We all survived. It was tough, but we had a great time sleeping in the living room watching movies. We all became so close. I miss those days. We had nothing, no money, no furniture. But, we laughed and cried. But, we survived!! Young lady, give yourself some credit. You left to live a life deserved! You will be fine.

I had nothing at 47/48, no money, no family, no friends no next of kin, no qualifications, no job and homeless. I am not a junkie, delinquent, crazy etc the standard stereotypical loser in life. You have a lot more than me, family, and a massive home. I live in state housing with OLD PEOPLE (No choice of my own) and I am only 55. There are other people worse off than you. You need to be strong, I didn't even get a settlement. Don't feel sorry for yourself, just keep moving forward. You have a lot more than other people.

I got divorced when I was 29. I thought even if I lived in a studio apartment it was something I had to do. I eventually bought a house all on my own. I didn't have a lot so I decorated it with yard sale finds. I bought power saws and tools from yard sales too to do renovations. You have a talent for finding deals already, so you can just look beyond the books at the thrifts for a while to find furniture and art....and you won't have to consult with anyone about what they like. It's all about what you like! It's a blank slate for you to design!

It takes a different path for everyone and I think you have some good business advisors with Tech & Sport and Chris at Daily Refinement. For your personal finances, check out to see if the group ChooseFI has an active group in Australia. Going through the fire is tough for sure but the other side is always clearer. It’s not silly to want your kitchen items at all. In my culture they say the kitchen (everything in it) belongs to the wife. If she leaves she takes her kitchen with her. If she passes everything in the kitchen is handed over to her family and it’s precisely because of the reasons you’ve given. So your feelings are totally valid. One day, one book, one moment at a time… If you let yourself think about it all too much, dwell too much. It can feel so overwhelming. But if you just tell yourself, I don't have to do anything in any moment…but this one thing… You don't have a whole room to pack up, just this ONE item at a time. And use that mentality in everything, you will arrive at your destination. You will find the light at the end of every tunnel, even if you can't see it. Just one step at a time.

You are not an old woman. (I'm 73 and old!) You are in the prime of your life with a chance to learn from your mistakes and how fun to take your new knowledge to make things so much better. You get a second chance. A do over. How exciting! Nothing worthwhile is too easy. You have to earn it. But boy! That is so satisfying! You know what to do and you will do just fine. And think about this saying that really helped me move on. There comes a point in your life when you have to let go of the Past to make room for your Future! Good Luck.🙏🙏🙏🙏

💕💕💕 This is a major life transition & it’s far from easy - (especially with children.) It’s a good idea to try and take It as slowly as you can, to adapt to the new ‘normal’ (that no woman ever wants.) It’s good you are getting as much of the stuff you can that matters to you in the new house - your comfort is extremely important during this most difficult time. To me the next stage would be to maintain the daily routines you had before. Don’t forget self care - like making sure you have healthy food in the house to support yourself & taking care to move your body each day. Let the sun shine on your face. As you are mired in this difficult situation I hope you remember to stop and SEE the goodness all around you - like the colors of the sunset & the beauty of nature. If I were you I would talk to God for help in EVERYTHING. He wants to hear from you! He is your greatest friend & cheerleader. When faced with something hard, I just say, “God help me.” ‘I can do ALL things through Christ, who strengthens me.’ - Philippians There is no doubt this transition will be difficult at times. But you are stronger than you realize. To me it seems the new horizon will also bring good experiences & eventually more love into your life (if you are open to it later.) Because you are beautiful. But there is a time and a season for everything. This is likely the toughest season you will ever go through in your life. Leaving the family home, the marriage and the dream you had for your life & your children for all these decades is no small thing. But you & the kids will be OK in the end - you don’t have to do it alone - even in the darkest night God is with you. He knows everything you are going through. He has never left your side. You may not see him behind the dark clouds, but He is always there. He wants to help you during your darkest hour - but we must ask because He would not force Himself on anyone. We can choose to tap into the greatest power in the universe - or not. It’s up to you. Either way you are definitely NOT alone - millions of women walked this path before you (including my own Mother who was divorced with 4 children & a low paying job.) Everything will be OK in the end. It’s all going to work out. Just take it one day at a time. You got this. 💕💕💕

I've been disabled from a car accident for 24 years, it's hard when a doctor says you're stuck with a crippling condition, and there's no procedure to remedy it.

@backfromburnout of course!! Have you looked into the Dave Ramsey baby step method?? It helped me so much with getting on the right path for financial freedom. I'm not rich lol, but it's definitely helped me so much! I appreciate you!

I never thought of it like that. I often feel like my videos are my equivalent to a diary entry.

A house is automatically a home when there's a kitty! Hoping for more cat spam in the future! You've totally got this Mel! I recommend the Profit First book for your business, and the Barefoot Investor for your personal money. Change is good, your new place is rad and new beginnings are daunting but exciting 💖

Must be nice to "start over" in such a big and beautiful house! When I did it, I stayed in a rent by the week hotel that was half the size of your garage, lol.

It's a lovely house to rent and closer to the warehouse which also means less daily driving. I'm very lucky.
