I haven't considered using knee pads to cover the biceps. Going to have to try this soon. Thanks for sharing!

One comes, in time, to look at Panantukan not so much as the weapons -free aspect of Kali, but rather as the aspect wherein the body itself forms the weapons that we use..... The same principals and concepts apply as to the use of any and all other weapons we use...( Other than firearms and projectile weapons, which are much more unique in their application....)

Yes, very well said. I would agree with that. Even my priorities and strategies are different between the two. When using Panantukan (and within its contextual mindset), I try to go in close, and through the other person, dominating space at all times. With the weapon(s), I’m the opposite- I much prefer to stay long range as often as possible, orbiting around the other person.

U cant backhand in american boxing but I've incorporated upercutting the tricep taken from the same concept..effective at wearing down ur opponent's arm
@Coach_Kurt
@Coach_Kurt 4 жыл бұрын
absolute757 I’ve always liked those little shots to the limb. Glad to hear that you’re trying them and they’re working for you. Are you getting the arm when it’s stationary, in flight, random? What’s working for you?
@absolute757
@absolute757 4 жыл бұрын
@@Coach_Kurt I use it as a counter...or whenever i see my opponent covering up I like to uppercut the tricep and follow with and overhand hook....also, not a gunta, but when I have an opponent who keeps his lead arm down, I like to straight punch the bicep for the same result.
