My son was born on Christmas Eve. I never mix Christmas with birthday for him. So he gets birthday gifts wrapped in birthday paper and then the next day are his Christmas gifts. I always decorated the kitchen with birthday items for him so he felt special and separate from the holidays.

My son’s due date was Xmas day.. I was so upset for him… but… he was late (still is always late!😂) and he was born on New Years Day. He is now 42 and never has had to go to school or go to work on his birthday.. so it worked out really well for him. ❤💙❤️

For my rectal cancer surgery I had a temporary stoma/ileostomy for 9 months. I’d say it took about one month to feel comfortable with all of the details of managing and having a stoma. It requires an adjustment in your daily activities. But it’s mostly predictable with occasional surprises.

@@stephisturn yes it wasn’t too daunting. But a lot depends on the individual and their abilities and desire to learn. It’s a very different way to live on a daily basis. But it’s truly a life saver. I also learned there are more people than you would have thought who have stomas. Having good stoma support services also makes a big difference in the beginning.

. A coworker of mine had a lymphoma recurrence in several areas of her body. She went through chemo and has been in remission for a little over 3 years now. Lymphoma can be highly treatable even at a later stage. Prayers and strength.

Flaxseed (ground or not ground) has lots of fiber and turns gelatinous when digested. Possible to have problems with stoma? Make sure to ask your doctor about consuming them if it could lead to blockages?

Flax seed not ground will not turn gelatinous when digested. It typically passes through undigested. For the best benefit it should be ground, then our bodies can absorb the omega 3’s and also process the fiber. I believe for Tiffany having it in a smoothly is an excellent choice, she just shouldn’t consume too much. About a teaspoon is just the right amount.

I’ve always love olives, but because of you, I’ve been buying them like crazy. She has an ostomy all vitamins , minerals nutrients are mal absorbed. It normal for some folks with an ostomy

Your potassium being off can cause everything from cramps to cardiac arrest. I had some crazy palpitations with a racing heart and my blood pressure dropping dangerously low when my electrolytes went out of wack fasting. It wasn't the lack of food that got me, it was the salts. And I'm not dealing with anything she's dealing with. Electrolyte balance is critically important. A little off needs to be fixed because a lot off can kill you.

I'm the same with the exhaustion and it is difficult to deal with. I am stage 4 ovarian and on maintenance tablets with several side effects. I try to split things into several smaller things to do like putting up my Christmas decorations, I did it over three days so it wasn't too much.

I went for eye test cause I broke my glasses about 6 months ago. I was sent to another eye dr. They want to do injections in both eyes monthly. Cause of my diabetes. I'm so scared to go. Can I lose my sight completely? Is it as painful as it sounds. I'm notice I see black floating lines alot drives me nuts. Can they treat it without shots in my eyes. I can't sit there with Dr coming at my eyes with needles.

The needles only SOUND scary...they put anti-pain drops in your eyes first, so there is absolutely ZERO pain. If you don't get the needed medication, you can go blind. When they do the injection, they come at you from the side, so you don't see the needle. I had cataracts removed and also macular degeneration injections with absolutely no pain. You may be a little sore afterwards, but I've been fortunate... When I first heard of it, I was terrified...but it's all pretty easy.

Tell yourself you have to get over the fear for the first treatment, it is is one of these things where you wonder wy you had so much fear when it's over,there is nothing to worry about

@@jennyn42 I had cataract surgery in both eyes and was terrified. Honestly I never felt anything. It was amazing. I could see the tiniest print on TV across the room the same evening. The surgeon planned them two weeks apart but because I healed so well he did them one week apart. My only advice….they will give you a detailed list of exactly what to do and what to avoid: wear eye patch while sleeping…use drops exactly as scheduled…don’t bend over or lift beyond instructions. Don’t be fearful…..God bless.
