I am 68 - have a bit of arthritis and still hike!. Liam did a vid on Mallorca's Dry Stone Way, I hiked it last year in two stages, staying in the Mallorquin Local Government run and extremely cheap refuges... This year I hiked the Cavals del Vent hut to hut trail in the Catalan Pyrenees. 84kms and 10,000 accumulated ascent and descent in 6 day.... it was stunning!!

Hi Liam. As a 62 year old who’s enjoyed a lot of hiking and backpacking over the years, your videos have inspired me to consider “cheap” wild camping holidays abroad for the future. However, having just struggled through bog and a forest in the dark to reach a forest track in my backyard of North Wales (minus a torch… don’t ask… I’m not as fast as I once was), I don’t think Montenegro will be my first choice. Your Madeira cross Island walk is more likely later this year as at least I’ve hiked there extensively. A tent, but no hotels (apart from the Encumeada) is probably what I’ll end up doing thanks to your inspirational posts. Thanks again.

I just got back from a trip around the Balkans and Northern Italy early on the 15th of August at around 2:30am. Started on the 28th of July in Dubrovnik and flew back from one of the Milan airports on the 14th of August. I was in Montenegro on the nights of the 29th and 30th of July and the morning of the 31st. Climbed Bobotov Kuk, but not right to the top. My brother and dad got just shy of the top.

I had to laugh so hard, because I've done some hiking around Kotor exactly in those mountains myself a few years ago. Worst trails I've ever encountered. Thousands of spiders, bloody legs, snakes and dehydration 😀Glad you made it out there alive. I loved hiking in the North of Montengro. Prokletije and Durmitor National Park are fantastic. The Balkan Mountains in general are amazing. You should consider going back there or checking out the Albanians Alps. Great video though. Thanks for sharing.

And now I've bought some gear, who knows? There may be more! Currently day dreaming of doing the hebridean way so may build up to that, or perhaps I'll end up leaving my gear sit in a cupboard...
