I loved Pai! I took my brother there back in 2016. It's surprising that it hasn't changed much since then, unlike Chiang Mai. Coffee in Love was one of my favorite cafes in the region. But the Pai Canyon was definitely the highlight of our visit. We also hiked to some of the more remote waterfalls, and went to the hot springs that are more reserved for the locals, not tourists. Much further than the one everyone else goes to.
@BackpackingBananas2 жыл бұрын
That sounds great! I regret not staying there a few more days as it seems like there was so much more to do! Where did you stay?
@SkyeTravels2 жыл бұрын
@@BackpackingBananas @Backpacking Bananas First we stayed at the Circus hostel on the hill overlooking Pai, and then at the hostel across the street from that. We were only there for two days, but still one of the best trips we've taken together. But that was probably also because we rode Honda Click scooters there and back, which was the ultimate adrenaline rush.

Do they check whether you have a licence or valid insurance when renting a bike, or is it strictly cash?
@agentgch2 жыл бұрын
It’s just cash with your passport. I got an international licence before I came and it was only £5. I’d recommend getting one in case you get pulled by the police. If you come to Thailand, make sure your travel insurance covers bike or car accidents.
@CrazyxJenx2 жыл бұрын
@@agentgch every time I look at backpacker insurance (true traveller and world nomads for example) both of them say you have to have passed your CBT test (if you’re from the UK like me) otherwise the insurance will be invalid if you have an accident 😬 I’m never know what to go with because so many videos include everyone hiring them still!
@agentgch2 жыл бұрын
@@CrazyxJenx I don’t see why you’d need a CBT, as we’re allowed to drive up to a 125 with our normal driving licence. It’s annoying not having clear guidance and clarity. I think your insurance will be valid as long as you get an international licence. I’m on Koh Chang and the roads are crazy steep and treacherous, I just ride like a snail and let them all overtake me 😆.
