When my son was grown and working his second job he told me how glad he was that my husband made him do "hard" things growing up. He said he learned to push himself when he'd rather not, and now he lives a vibrant life raising his own two boys. Warms my heart to see you take your family on these adventures.

Here with potatoes we dig trenches and plant in the bottom, as the plant grows we merely push some of the hilled dirt back around the plants, and add some straw as needed.

My family would hike around Shaver Lake when I was a kid and camp .. Backpacking was very popular in the 70s.
