Backpacking With Your Wife - FD Roosevelt State Park, Pine Mountain Trail

It was a Mother's Day Weekend backpacking trip into FD Roosevelt State Park in Pine Mountain, Georgia, USA. The park has a unique history as a location where then-President Franklin D. Roosevelt would escape for treatment of his polio at nearby Warm Springs in a facility dubbed the "Little White House."
The Pine Mountain Trail is the 22-mile spine heading from end to end. Attached to the Pine Mountain Trail is a series of loop trails ranging from two to eight miles in length. There are quite a few good backcountry campsites available. A camping fee and a permit are required to camp along the trails.
