I always liked Jessica. My impression of her was always that girl who felt like she needed to fit in, and didn't think she was pretty enough. Felt like she lacked confidence, but I myself could relate to that when I was in high school since you're so young and naive. She always seemed genuine person though and a good friend to have.

Don't get me wrong - I love Stephen. I just wish he would let people speak and share (especially when they're meeting the guest virtually). We have gotten the same input from him SO many times and i just wish he would be a good listener instead of waiting for someone to stop talking so he can start. For us super fans of the show, there was an episode where Jessica’s mom was talking about how she should be more like Kristin and you could just tell she (Jessica) was about to cry. It was sad, her mom was not being empathetic at that time to her being in a very challenging situation and said that to her knowing good and well it was going to be shown on tv. That was hard to watch, as a now mom to daughters.

I never understood the negative feedback Jess got in high school. She was just a teenager being in love with a guy. Yeah, it was like they went back into their high school dynamic where Jessica felt like she had to please Kristen and was slightly scared to go against her .
