Hey just a handy tip but a piece of tool shelf liner under your cutting board will keep it from moving. I cut my hand once really bad on a slippery board. Love the channel.

So i did my sausages today. What a chore. Its been a while since i did sausages. I made the mix about 40% whitetail deer, and 60% pig( thereoff about more butt and 8 lbs baconends). Seasoned it w perfect pepper, fresh copped garlic, garlic powder, onion powder, a lil sugar and some pink salt. Grind twice all together, let sit 24 to 30 hours and then stuff. So. The plan was using my 1 horsepower 22 meatgrinder. But: the attachment did not fit. I mcgyvered a piece together but it could not hold the pressure from meat being pushed on it. So i used my kitchenaid. What a chore. 6 hours of stuffing. Done. Someked it in my brinkman, seasoned the fire w onion and garlic peels, bayleaves, peppers, used hickory and mesquite chips. I gave some to my neighbors, they loved it. I ate 7 (!!!) Sausages. Wonderful. Getting my grinder attachment tomorrow figured out. Still gotta do the spicu batch and then "mango madness", spicy w some rehydrates small cut mango, apricot, cranberries and possibly pistacios. All fruits rehydrated and nuts stripped of sslty skin. Just wanted to share.happy cooking ❤

Chad Robinson 45 It helps to line the charcoal area with foil and remove the grill just as soon as you’re done cooking. If you leave it on until the grill cools off it’ll always be rusted and unseasoned between uses.

Well We will have to try that... Do you use a food saver we do and i smoke meats and freeze the rest... Love dear meat the wife doesn’t but I don’t hunt anymore but... you have a wonderful day bro thank you for your time...☮️

Can't believe I won! Been sick in bed for a coupla days and that shout-out made me feel better. So, did I win a burger & sweet tater tots?🍔🍳🍺 Mattamuskeet Sweet is a very good onion that we get here on the OBX that'll give the Vidalia a run for its money. Have seen them so fresh they have the stalks on them in the farmer's market. About 12 oz. or so.

The Vidalia is a yellow onion. The variety is Yellow Granex Hybrid. It is a yellow onion but sweet. Give them a try if you can find them

Sir, thanks for a great demonstration. I just bought a cast iron camping grill- this has no vents by the way, from the Barebones Living people. I used charcoal in the base of the grill (inside the chamber) and cooked hamburgers with the lid on and slightly askew to get some O2 to the charcoal. The hamburgers were overcooked, and not seared. Any advice as to what I could have done better? I'm not a very experienced griller, by the way, but I really like your channel.
@BackwoodsGourmetChannel4 жыл бұрын
Learn how to control the heat on your equipment. Hamburger need quite a bit of heat to sear them, so you will have to put in more fuel.
@Hiwatt100W14 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply- appreciate it. I did notice that the heat off the coals lessened relatively fast...got work with this grill more.

Did you just add bacon to that venison? I thought I read that wrong. Hey my hubby has had no luck in the hunting situation in the past three years so unless he has luck this year I wont be trying this recipe. Thanks for sharing!
@anthonythorp72914 жыл бұрын
I have heard of others adding bacon as they grind their meat. I was going to try it but was told bacon will go rancid. Pork only keeps about 6 months as a rule. Seems to me if you do a batch small enough to be used up in that time, it should work.

Greetings from the UK. Great video but I would like to ask you, is it legal to eat bear over there in the USA? If it is, have you tried it and what does it taste like? Is it similar to deer?
@BackwoodsGourmetChannel5 жыл бұрын
Bear is a VERY limited harvest in Florida. I have never tried it because they have been protected here in most of my lifetime.
