You are a perfectionist! I would not have noticed that curve, you did, only because you are looking closely at your own work, well done! I mean all of it. Total running cost so far ? I am afraid of staining, although I do it and it turns out. You go for it. Will your stairs have risers? Separate stairs on side or mitred to the front steps? Maybe an iron rail on one side, for your party guests that might get inebriated,😂. Can't wait to see the finished back yard!!! Blue gaderaide, Goin with editor John on this one.😊

@chiagirlmyfatcat896 - Oh...come on...you totally would have noticed that back cut. It was super bad and totally stood out because I did so well on the rest of the cuts...It hard to be fixed. And believe me...I'm not that much of a perfectionist...especially on projects that seem to be never ending. My new catch phrase is..."good enough for city work." I do have a spread sheet for the totals and will go over all of that stuff once the Final Final reveal happens. No railings on the deck at all. I am not worried about anyone falling off. 90% of the time it is just going to be me on the deck and even if I did have people over, it wouldn't be more than like 3 people and none of those people have young kids...so yeah...I'm not at all worried about people possibly falling off. :)

@pamela5568 - The trees are pretty nice and now that they are all trimmed up, I love them even more. I can't wait for barbecue pool parties. I love to barbecue, but haven't had one since moving into this house. I think a new barbecue is going to be a gift to myself once I get this backyard completely done...I say I deserve it :)

@janfontana2530 - Awww...thank you so much. I don't drink Gatorade all of the time, but when I do it's the orange flavor. It really does help when working outside in the heat...it's better than water when needing to stay hydrated (in my opinion). And...no time for parties right now, there is still so much left to do :) But when everything is done we will be partying it up for sure!

@Katiekay. - I actually though of lattice at first, but then I decide to give myself a break on the amount of money I was spending and went with 2 x 6 x 8 boards. I left a little gap in between each board so I only needed 2 rows around the entire deck...which was pretty cost effective in the grand scheme of everything :)

@jillpotts7472 - I am telling you...you can do this. It is not hard and the only tools you really need is some sort of saw and a drill. It is actually easier than you might think...I promise.

@jillpotts7472 - Well...you might move if you had the surroundings I had. I can't tell if the area I live in is going to get better or worse. It looks like the city is making improvements and trying to beautify things...but there is a super bad homeless problem just outside of my neighborhood and that brings all sorts of issues...trash being the main one. Don't get me wrong, my street is amazing (just a couple people who don't take that much pride in where they live)...but driving out of my neighborhood to go to the StarBucks or the gas station is a shitshow.

@MegaPineapplexpress - I'm actually not worried at all about anyone falling off. 1. I know no young kids. 2. It's not really that big...so no real room for running around and acting crazy. 3. It's on 24" off the ground, so if someone did fall, I don't feel they would get hurt that bad. And 4. 90% of the time it's only going to be me on the deck and if I fall off, it's my own fault. :)
