What a lovely garden you have created! Very inspiring! We love in NJ. Would I be able to do the same plants here too?

Thank you so much. I believe most of it you can. I would still double check if it will grow in your growing zone. Mine is 7a.

Beautiful. Every year aftr the winter you hv to strt from scratch or you store the seeds and bulbs?
@WhatsUrHomeStoryMalayalam9 ай бұрын
No Bindu chechi, majority of the plants here are perennials, which will come back after every winter. The annuals (ones that don’t come back), I just let the seeds fall off on the soil by themselves. They sprout when the weather warms up. Even the bulbs come back. Actually I planted only the bulbs that will come back for us. That way less maintenance. The first 3 years i started new plants from seed every season so i can fill up the space. Now only maintenance is pruning to keep size controlled and removing dead leaves/flowers etc to keep everything tidy.

Super video👍. Last year started perennials from seeds, ( foxglove,Shasta daisy, columbine..,) how long does it take to get flowers? Miracle grow shake n feed all purpose plant food is good for outdoor plants? Thanks in advance 🙏
@WhatsUrHomeStoryMalayalam9 ай бұрын
Most perennials bloom the 2nd season. By the way foxglove is a biennial. So it will die after it blooms. Make sure to let it go to seed and spread it around. Start another set this year so you have foxglove blooms every year. Yes Miracle grow is fine.

Such a beautiful garden 😍 do you fertilize them? If so what do you use ? Also what variety is the daisy ? I planted some shashta daisy last year and eagerly waiting for it to flower. But the leaves of your daisy and mine look different. I love the variety that you have hence asking .
@WhatsUrHomeStoryMalayalam9 ай бұрын
Thank you Anupa. Yes I fertilize 2-3 times a season with osmocote slow release fertilizer. That is Shastha daisy. I have 3 types. One a friend shared a division which is well behaved (doesn't flop, doesn't spread), another I started from seed, which I think is the common version (flops, spreads from seed a lot), and Crazy Daisy Shasta Daisy that I bought on a BOGO deal from gilberthwild.com/.

From where do you usually buy seeds? Like you mentioned Foxglove was from seed.
@WhatsUrHomeStoryMalayalam9 ай бұрын
I usually buy from Walmart, Home Depot or Lowes.

Are most of those perennials and they grow back every year? The ones u started from seeds?
@WhatsUrHomeStoryMalayalam9 ай бұрын
Yes majority are perennials. Pretty much anything I can start from seed I did. Foxgloves (biennial), columbine, yarrow, coneflower, daisy, rose campion (started from a seedling a friend shared but now seeing self seeded seedlings), chives, chamomile, baptisia, painted daisy, perennial alyssum, poppies are all from seed.

I think it is banana plant I saw in the end of video. Can banana plant survive in cold winters ? If so, do you do anything in winters that helps them to revive in summers? Thanks!
@WhatsUrHomeStoryMalayalam9 ай бұрын
Yes that is a hardy banana plant called musa basjoo. I have done 2 videos about it before. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oneWppivaZycZ5o & kzbin.info/www/bejne/hIWwfamKgbR1etE

Do uhave any enimity with bougainvillea. Why avoiding bougainvillea. All of the color lover always welcome bougainvillea plz do consider
@WhatsUrHomeStoryMalayalam9 ай бұрын
No I like bougainvillea but that won't survive outdoors for us. Will have to keep indoors 7 months of the year like curry plant etc. Because of the maintenance needed (cleaning, removing leaves etc before bringing the plants indoors, and pest infestation during winter) I'm cutting down on the no.of plants to bring inside. Last few years I lost like 4 - 5 jasmines during winter due to mealy bugs.
