What I like about his collection is that they may be projects but they all are pretty solid-savable cars....He didn't let them rust into the ground and then ask stupid money for it...The two cars he priced were reasonable and that Z-28 could be something with a little bit of work

Parker, I appreciate the fact that you are actually trying to be a conduit to get these cars into the hands of just your average car guy who has always wanted one or had one back in the day and had to sell it for any number of reasons. Gerald seems like a very cool car guy and I loved his '69 Z/28.

Gerald is super chill. for those who wonder, the X33 spec'd the bright trim that was part of a trim style package Z/21 or RS package Z/22...and only a Z/28 because X33 also included the Z/28 specific stripes. if a Z did *not* have the trim style package or RS package, then it would be an X77 which was just the Z stripes and no bright trim or RS. there's X codes for SS cars, and plain base cars too, separated by Z/21, Z/22, or neither...complicated! without a build sheet, the X codes are a good guide as to what the car actually is

And it’s not just about Chevy’s or Fords or Mopars to Gerald, he seems to understand all manufacturers had something special to offer and that all of them are worth saving!!! I’ve always been the same way and my first pick has always been the Road Runner’s and I’ve had a 69 B5 blue car and a 74 that was silver with red stripes & black buckets & console & I bought it for $1,700 back in 1981. I’ve had a bad ass 66 Barracuda with a built 340 that would just slaughter the big block cars and embarrass them beyond belief. Then came a 67 Barracuda convertible. I’ve had a 70 1/2 Camaro SS/RS LT1 car with 4spd, 63 Corvair convertible which didn’t win any races but was a blast too drive or go cruising the Rocky Mountains with the wife on a Saturday evening with the top down. I love them all and yes, I have my faves but I’m open to any of them and appreciate every one of you that sees the importance of what we had and working together to save as many as we possibly can! Thank you Parker for what you’ve done here!! It’s the first time I’ve seen your channel and am grateful for KZbin recommending you to me and you gained a new subscriber this morning!! I have a 69 Z-28 a few miles from me in central NC that is the dark blue, 4spd car and original Z 28 with original DZ 302 that is out of car but there in the garage. It’s been sitting at least 30 years and I wish the owner would sell to someone before it gets too far gone to revive. These are important pieces of our history bay we all need to work together too preserve & protect now. Take care everyone and be safe out there!!!

21:00 That Olds 455 was beast in its day! Growing up we had a Olds Station-wagon with the 455 Rocket, Dad put 4:10 rear end, headers, intake, brakes, etc… to tow the camper. I’ll never forget the sound of the carburetor sucking in air when he hit the gas! Him & Mom would pile all us kids in & head out. It yanked that camper around & thru the mountains like it wasn’t even there. I vaguely remember Dad being nervous heading to Pikes Peak, but once there & realized the car could handle it, he was ok.

I had a survivor 69 Z - it was an 04C N633599 with BV 0418. There are a couple of 04C cars with Early april engines. V0409DZ 1969 Valve covers do not have drippers. Also at 16:51 the valve cover is flipped upside down. ON the edge closest to the viewer the valve cover lip where the bolt holes are - there is a part of the lip which is not there, 3 inches or so long on by the front bolt hole and about 5 inches long by the rear bolt hole. 1969 -1972 valve covers have 3" on the front and 3" for the rear... they are to clear the intake runners - the one with the longer 5" or so slot cut out of the top lip is for clearing an EGR valve which was introduced in 1973. The 71-72 covers use a push in rubber OIL filler plug not a twist in cap, 73 and up they went back to the twist in cap but long slot cover for EGR The V0425DZ is too late for the car. The Early engine is really too early for the car... Wish you would have gotten the VIN's off the DZ's There are TONS of May Z28's missing their engines.

Nice Z28, I would paint it with a decent paint job, either the Black with white stripes or green w white stripe and enjoy it at car meets. I would leave the engine as is, it sounds healthy and keep the original 302 in the garage as a conversation item and throw in if you decide to sell it in turn.

Everyone is looking at the Z but the rare one is the’72 Olds 442. A very highly optioned low production convertible which only 928 were produced. Even rarer is the color combo. Compare that to 19,014 Z-28 produced.

When somebody doesn't tell you the price up front and you have to call them for it, you know it's too much. The classic car market is completely out of control these days. Probably a better price than you would get from these shyster dealers, you see. The Richard Rawlings of the car world. No better than 1970s used car salesman.

My Mom and a couple of her friends had Camaro's back in High School ('77-'81). My Mom had a 1971 RS Z/28 (Silver / Black stripes) Split Bumper. She sold it for $700 to our neighbor back in '93. Her friend had a 1969 RS Z/28 (Black / White stripes) 4spd. She kept the car underneath a cover in her heated garage for most of the 40+ years she had owned it. I fell in love with the 69 Camaro as soon as she pulled the cover off the car. The garage lights reflecting off the shiny paint. I was 15 at the time and asked if she would sell it to me! Lol She laughed then told me she's going to be buried in it. A guy she was dating stole the car and never returned. Pretty sad
