I'm glad you decided to continue the knife forging series. I've always loved watching you make your bows but the knives help really show just how much creativity you have. Keep up the great work.

you're a great guy Nick. you have a nice guy charisma along with being a very skilled blacksmith. Keep up the good work man.

most what I love about your work is the fact that u use really cheap and easy to use tools man. respect for that. I've seen lots of people on utube crafting different things but they use all types of expensive tools that do most of the work. I have nothing against it but it's not inspiring for those who cannot purchase those tools. thanks again for all the postings.

Really gorgeous knife... I keep seeing videos like this (many of them yours) and it really makes me want to buy an anvil and maybe some stainless stock of some kind and make a couple knives from scratch. Also, thanks for being so happy and positive, it's nice to see someone who really enjoys doing something and then showing others.

I'd like to see you forge a roman gladius out of 1075 high carbon steel, any type of gladius would suffice. I see them as quite beautiful weapons if you use some brass along with a darker wood for the handle it'd like really nice.

That is a beautiful knife. Well done.

With a slightly more bent handle (to clear your knuckles so they dont hit the cutting board) it could work really well as a small chopping knife in the kitchen. Like a hybrid between a traditional chef knife and a meat cleaver. There are times when a knife like this would come in handy. Another awesome video Nic!

Sorry i dont read before i hit send lol between my phones spell check and my spelling were both wrong. But i was just trying to say I love the knives that he makes. I was big into knives growing up untill my home robbery I lost over 300 knives lots of collectables they took my daughters while room and almost mine before we found out there was someone taking everything while me and my daughter were gone and we no who did it and the cops did nothen but that's on then and I believe in God and karma. So being disabled and loosing 30 thousand worth of stuffs alot we started over and I'm just now collecting knives and coins for my daughter again. And buying all the fishing stuff I can afford cleaning it and fixing it and giving away to kids to get them back fishing and having fun not stealing and doing drugs. But thanks for saying something I rewrote hope it looks better. I seem to write and not read what I write and Sound dumb sorry. But God bless you and merry Christmas.

doesn't a cheese knife have holes in it normally so it doesn't stick to the blade? Other then that, beautiful work!!!! Atb, Dawn
@gosonegr9 жыл бұрын
+SouthPaw Bushcraft The holes mostly do nothing, it sticks anyway. I've seen some chefs put the knife in cold water for a while and it seems to cut better
@sergeantbigmac9 жыл бұрын
+SouthPaw Bushcraft Ya traditionally it does. And its not abnormal for it to be forked at the end. My mom has one that looks like a ladder. The blade is one long thin piece of metal and its connected to the top piece of metal/handle by thin strips of metal going perpendicular. So it has really big holes and it actually works really well.

Hi, good work! I have question, is it possible to harden rebar, so it could be used as a "real" blade? And at the end, could You improve the sound? Some times, when You are in the open, it is hard to hear what You say, and I have the volume at max (samsung tablet, samsung phone). I have a slight hear impirement. Best regards Dan
@Tsnafu9 жыл бұрын
+Dan Gunnarsson Yes, re-bar (at least here in the UK) is a T1 high carbon steel quite similar to 1095 (leaf spring steel) and is therefore suitable for hardening and tempering. I don't know why Nick didn't do this (or maybe he did but just didn't show those steps on his vid)
@ferrero1299 жыл бұрын
+Tsnafu its pointless to harden/temper since its only for cheese

That's what I thought. I was considering purchasing one but I saw a video of someone testing theirs and it dented super easily. Do you experience that with your at all?
@BackyardBowyer8 жыл бұрын
+Ken Palamara This is the 15 pound Harbor Freight anvil. It's cast iron and has no rebound, but I really like it. Even though it's really light, I could do just about anything with it. It does dent easily and the edges chip out after a lot of pounding but it's still great for the price. I still use it for smaller things and for setting rivets, which is what I originally got it for.
