I made these yesterday. A previous recipe I used was for strong white bread flour only and Rik is so right, the dough using half and half was so much softer. I only wanted to make 4 - 6 buns, so divided the recipe by 3, the dough was extremely sloppy, but I realised afterwards, I used a whole egg rather than a third of one. Ooops, never mind, a bit more flour soon sorted that out, my partner LOVED them

A work of art, love fruit buns. I am hoping to purchase the Hysapientia 24L oven before the end of the year. I have Ninja air fryers which are great but they dont brown the bread on the bottom therefore you have to turn them over to finish cooking. Your recipes all look so delicious, good home cooking.

In 1960 when I left school,I went to work in a big bakery in Birmingham that supplied their 14 shops,and we made these buns,main difference was no lemon curd,and the top was glazed with apricot jam,instead of simple syrup,5 years later when I arrived in the States ,I found the Belgian bun had under gone a name change,and now it was a Danish.Though Danish does cover several different buns,including a flatter type,with,lemon curd,raspberry,or a sweet cream cheese in the middle,but some of the Danish are just about the same as the Belgian bun.😊

Home made Lemon Curd is the best, can also make Orange curd if the fancy takes you (replace the 3 lemons with 2 Oranges), beware of wax coated fruits in the West. Lemon Curd run through home made Yogurt, topped with a small amount of honey. Some great recipes in this channel loved the Corned Beef Hash it is a great recipe a real change from the old mashed to destruction version, was a nice texture change. Belgian Buns yum yum.

Had a penchant for Puttanesca for quite a while now but normally on a pizza from my local takeaway with anchovies, tuna, green and brown olives, onions and thinly sliced green and red chillies. Have just watched a few videos on here for "Spaghetti Puttanesca" which looks superb. Saw one Italian chef add salami to his and I suppose if you've got the base of anchovies, garlic, olives, capers and tomatoes you could add anything you wanted although the "Purists" of the dish may not agree! Be great to see you cook your inimitable version of that on your channel if you ever get short of ideas. All the best, and keep up your great work!

I don't mind sweet rolls/buns. Don't like the icing at all, though. I have a KitchenAid stand mixer and have never used it. I'm 68 and my wrists ache something awful after chopping a lot of vege, so maybe it is time for me to use the mixer. And the food processor and my "barrel" grater.
