This is a great diy video! I’ll add a few tips from my IAC replacement experience: WATCH IT with the 4 screws that secure the IAC to the throttle body. USE PENETRATING OIL FIRST and let it sit for a while. They are in tight-and are a JIS pan head-NOT Phillips tip! Research the two tips and note that a well cut blunt Phillips screwdriver will work but a worn or sharp point is going to jack the screw up. I got 3 out of 4 out with ease but the 4th was tough and the metal is soft. I used a Craftsman #2 magnetic Phillips tip screwdriver. Also, protect the Idle Position Sensor from oils when cleaning. I cut a glove finger tip to stretch over the terminal receiver. When cleaning the throttle body, If the carbon soot is thick-spray throttle body cleaner, let it soak and use a plastic or wooden coffee stir stick to scrape off the soot. I’ve seen guys use pick tools and scratch the crap out of the butterfly! Not necessary-just light scrapping and a cloth with cleaner will get you there! Lastly, the IAC operates off of coolant heat so if you can-flush or at least drain radiator fluid and I replaced 34 year old thermostat, the rusted out manifold coolant fitting next to the thermostat housing (it was bad), and the leaking radiator cap. The IAC works off of coolant vacuum so the extra attention to the coolant system is worth the trouble-plus you have everything open to manage the extra work, so why not! Good luck YOTER’s!

2000 Corolla uses a very similar IAC valve. Impossible to open it up (removal from the throttle body is easy... but access to the rotating barrel end inside is insane), but an entire replacement valve may be the safest method to resolve a rough idle and fix the problem... if that is where the problem lies.
