I’ve had my camp chef for about a year now and absolutely love it. I think it’s a great addition for you and the channel. Really opens up a lot of recipes. I just started my channel in September and use it and my green mountain grill primarily.

I have a blackstone being delivered Monday. Can't wait to do me smash burgers plus fried rice dishes. I liked the look on your face at the 1st smell if horseradish, mayo n pepper mixture, I knew right thin that you was not going to have sinus problems!!! Nice new toy... The wife made me choose between the blackstone and a pellet smoker. It was hard but I told her if the smoker stayed at the on sale price after thanksgiving I was getting it. Cook on my brother...

Bro the crust you got on those was awesome. Nothing like the flavor you get on the flat top. We have a lot of country restaurants around here that have those old flat tops that have been seasoned for many moons. Now you need to do a teppanyaki video.

I have the bbq hack for my grilla silverbac pellet grill. It is an insert that fits over the firebox. It works great for a flat top. Definitely the best of both worlds. It fits over 60 different pellet grills. Plus you get a little smoke flavor when you close the lid. By the way great looking burgers.

I really like it. I know they are very similar, and I considered both, but I'm really glad with my choice. And the Camp Chef service has been great. I had one minor issue and I called and they sent a replacement part out that same day without even asking me for proof of purchase :)

Just giving it that first smash and holding really helps set the crust. It's also a bit easier than pre forming thin patties before :)

After watching your smash burger cook it was time to try it. This was the first time smashing burgers and was done in the dark. Lets just say it was beyond the maillard reaction point. I burnt up some buns to pair with the burgers. Not too bad! Yours looked way better.

I’ve been making Smash burgers on a Camp Chef 6 series, hands down I’ve always been involved with the cooking, but once your friends have one of these Smash burgers, it’s like crack cocaine to an attic, hands down the best tasting burgers out there, and you can mix it up which ever way your friends want. I usually uses 80/20 with sea salt, pepper, & when in the ball shape, season with Worcestershire sauce, prior to grill time, I also use Kerrygold garlic / parsley butter in 1/4 chucks placed on the grill, then set your ball on the melting butter, smash 10 to 15 seconds monitor flip when brown is coming through, place your cheese or no cheese, then as on this above video, place on bunn, with whatever toppings. You will need to chase chowhounds away, they are instantly addicted. Oh one last thing, I use Portobello mushrooms pre cooked as one of my toppings.

Nice video, liked it Sorry, I'm a total rookie... does it really make a difference to smash the "meatballs" after 10-20 seconds on the griddle, instead of just pressing them into shape before in the kitchen? what would you say are the main differences between a (smashed) flat-top cooked hamburger and a regular grilled one? thanks!

That smash and press helps set a crust. If you start with it already flattened, pressing would likely smash it too thin. This just seems to work really well to get that nice sear :)

I had a friend that brought over pre-formed patties. Didn't sear near as good and they were "dense" and just not as good. To each their own, but I like making loosely formed 2 oz balls and I smash them very thin. Thin enough that the cheese will help hold them together. I use 2 to 3 of these patties per burger. They come out tender, juicy and you get that nice caramelized crust along with tender beef. I also have the Burger Iron like Ry uses, it makes it so much easier than with spatula's. I also sharpen my wide spatula similar to a knife so that I can get all that crust with the burger patties. Check out George Motz and Kenji Lopez-Alt, they have great videos. George Motz Oklahoma onion burger is how I like mine made.

When I use my cast iron pan my heat is like 525(measuring with heat gun)in the pan as I place the first two burgers. Then it's down to about 325 when time to place the next two. Any remedy for this besides just waiting for it to come back up?

You should make a custom hat and apron. Only cause you ware them in all your videos. Your Golden "Ry" logo could work well.
