This is the first version I hear that includes the breating between lines. This song is really difficult for breath during because of how close-together everything is. Normally the breaths are removed and that gives the song a surreal stream-of-conciousness vibe which makes sense because its about going mad and internal conflict. Including the gasps between / during lines does give it a more frantic feel, though, almost like the singer is drowning.

Yes, for example, RichaadEB's and Christina Vee's version is cleaner, there's more academical performance in it. But this one? It's *wilder*. The former sounds like someone who's given their all, didn't succeed, and is hanging in limbo, torn between a new attempt that could fail, too, and resignation. The latter sounds like a beast was given the "gift" of consciousness, and now sees existential dread superimposed over their animal instincts.
