I think you destroyed the moth' s chrysalis. You can treat the hives with oxalic acid and formic acid to help with pests

Dude with all those queen cells I bet that hive swarmed and then the remaining bees were weak and that's when the moths took it over

I would have just put the frames out in the sun to dry up the wax moth larva and put them back in the hive and put some bees in it. in a week or two they would have cleaned and fixed up that comb as good as new

save it till spring. drawing wax takes a lot of resources. 9 pounds of honey to make one pound of wax.

He will have to be careful about doing that. Some chemicals are hazardous to bees. Even when rinsed off they leave a residue.

While the small cells of moth larva and stuff left will make the frames harder for the bees to use they will slowly get rid of the excess cells and they can build another strong comb.

Taras, I would really sanitize the frames and supers with steam. The mites can get into the cracks along with fungal spores when the colony was going downhill.

I had the same thing happened to me. I did what you did, I clean them as well as I could with the tool and then I soaked the frames in bleach and water and then I laid them in the sun until the bleach had dried out. Then I put them back together and put the hive back where it was and I ordered new bees and a queen but before I got the new bees in the mail last spring, a new hive or swarm or possibly the bees that left in the first placed moved into that Hive I cleaned up. so free bees yea!=
