Kofoid's slider was at such a hard angle that he basically had to stop to keep from hitting the wall and left Balog with no other option but to turn left unexpectedly. Definitely not the kind of move that's going to earn respect of the other drivers.

I used to enjoy watching kofoid race 3 years ago. All he knows how to do is slide people. These younger racers just throw kamikaze sliders hoping they don’t junk it. His slider on gravel cleared, but the distance he had to carry it made it a poor choice.
@twozer0x5 ай бұрын
I mean, if you make a move where the car you make a move on has to take evasive action, that's not clean. Only in Sprint Car racing does this dumb mindset take place where you can just slide anyone like that.

Racetracks without walls are NOT racetracks. Just stupidly dangerous place people go to drive cars. The two 'premium' series and they run on crap like this. We keep hearing b/s about safety in the US. Yet look at the garbage venues. Though I suppose this one is safer than the one Carly Holmes broke her back at,, no fence, a path then a creek.. I suspect 90% of US tracks would not get a track licence here in Oz.

Kofoid might have cleared Balog then immediately parked it on balogs hood so either if he didn't take advasive action it would have damaged balogs front wing or more or caused him to blindly turn left while gravel was there these are not Midgets.the closing rate of a sprintcar is much greater and if gravel does a Brad sweet and punt him out of the park he will have it coming personally I think Gravel should have "talked" to kofoid in the front of the hauler like kinser would have done and then buddy could have explained the black eye and how he triped in the hauler a day bumped his eye on the corner of a cabinet

I’m not sure about the Kofoid move on Friday night. I was so into the excitement of the race, but it didn’t feel like a dirty move necessarily. When you’re putting a slide job on someone, how much responsibility do you have for everyone who is not directly involved in that pass? That’s the big question I guess. I may go back and watch it again. But hey! How about the macho man! Two in a row against the WoO at Haubstadt! Now that’s something to talk about! Especially when you consider how good Macedo is there. Thanks Justin!

Was wrenching on a couple cars in the 80’s. We raced K-ville every week. Worked at Challenge Chassis welding and building sprints. so I seen some things. 30 years ago just about ALL the slide jobs being thrown wouldn’t be tolerated. But things have really changed since then. Now the drivers are tossing HUGE sliders and the guy getting passed better lift or get wadded up. And I’m sorry, it ain’t just Kofoid throwing kamakaze slides… it’s all of em.

The lack of courtesty? Money and what I'll call the "NASCAR Factor." I don't watch the fendered stuff--late models excepted--any more b/c so many times the winner moved the guy in front of him to beat him. That has carried over into dirt open wheel. But the real factor is money.

I dont think a series owner should be eligable in a championship run. Im not a brad sweet fan, so I guess im a little bias here. If I was one of the other normal ‘high rollers’ id be getting a bad taste in my mouth if Brad keeps winning. If you want to be a series owner/promoter, hang up the helmet or just race here and there like Larson.

Port royals full show was completed before either of lincolns features were even close to starting.

It is sad that the mature racers 49, 19, 24, 7... are no longer around. Gravel is immature and cannot stand with the Champions of the past. He will predictably continue to feed this behavior all season unabated with no real competition. Forever a #2.

Hot laps started at 4:30pm, and the sprint feature got done just before 8pm. Callum Williamson (Trone 39), Ryan Newton, Danny Dietrich, and Devon Borden were all there. I believe Gravel had options, do what he did or lift and get on the brakes. When you race that close you increase the chance for such a incident to happen. I don't feel Kofoid did anything wrong, sure it was late in the corner and tight, but he cleared them. How the other drivers react is on them. That's racing and yes the respect level today is not what it use to be, like before all those drivers were probably born.
