Lonnie, if shipping is an issue because of packing up very delicate ceramic flowers and branches and such, consider using crafting/pillow stuffing fiber. I recently saw one of my other KZbin Resellers (flyingpigthrifts) pick up bags of this pillow stuffing at Goodwill for like $.99. She said that she always picks it up when she sees it at thrift stores, garage sales or estate sales because she uses it to pack and ship intricate and very fragile figurines. If you have a figurine that is very valuable, it may also be worth spending a few dollars at either a dollar or craft store to pack it.

I sell dvd's and cd's like crazy, but you have to look for out of print and things that never made a transition to the next medium. That being said it's still very easy to make bad buys, but as long as you learn not to buy it again then you get a little value from it. I have quit buying many toys unless I see they have a super good sell through. I'm to stubborn to delist the ones I have listed, but they haunt me each time I see them in my inventory.

I would suggest an additional exception to your DVD/VCR buys. If it's like $5 or less, and it has the remote, I'd say it's hard to go wrong. Even if it's completely broken and not worth selling for parts, you can just junk the actual unit and the remote will probably sell for $10 - $15 alone.

I had a pair a couple years back that took me 4 hours to pack up securely. It was a $1000 sale + ship, but man i swore of selling any that big for a few years, and am still pretty picky, the margins have to be really good. Recently broke that two year mark and listed a pair of speakers last month sold them for $1200, paid $300, and I got lucky, the buyer lived only 40 miles from me and we talked on the phone and he did a local pickup!!!!

Most old cameras have zero value, most people cannot understand descriptions of vinyl, ie if you say there is some sratches and approx grade = vg with probability of some noise. They literally get it and scream that its sandpaper and not playable (33s around 1985 and older even with physical flaws can still play ok) I've decided To delist 500 records recently, sick of dealing with people. That being said I made a couple thousand in profit on records, hard to ignore them. I have about 100 up ATM but any new ones have to be basically excellent or up. I grade Vynil only optically and point it out. In addition, always a little worse than it actually is. Relatively easy and quick to do. The condition of Vynil is difficult to see in photos, unless there are really noticeable scratches and damage. Vynil collectors are more likely to be deterred from buying and buyers are more likely to be surprised by the condition if it is better. Real collectors buy from dealers who also grade the sound, at least I suspect.

It’s time consuming, and they are items that depreciate while they sit. Occasionally something tests well before I sent it out, in the buyer reports a problem, or asks for technical support.

Soooo ... I am ok with the new "long" format, but I think (though my channel is dead and I have no authority) you may be able to get more view time, etc. if you "broke" these into shorter segments. What I am thinking is that you're doing the editing/uploading/etc. already, but what if you had a pre-recorded insert (to put at the end) that said: "Hey guys, in the interest of time we're cutting this video here. There's plenty more to watch, and if you're enjoying this, click here for part 2" and you just ended with no "resolution" and picked up exactly where you left off?

@@shedflips - not sure what the cost of 'sheds' are there, but here (E. TN) I can get 4 good used 40' conex containers for the cost of one just of the 12x40 sheds, and a 12x60 isn't that much more than the 12x40 (here). Conex containers can be 'moved' FULL... whereas semi trailers can't be moved with anything in them once the axles have been removed. Also, the conex containers can be 'stacked' and joined, and expanded - if you know someone that can weld (and you don't plan on moving them anytime soon). Anyhow... just a thought. Conex containers require little maintenance, and are designed to LAST 30 to 50 years when on rock or slightly off the ground. I've had 2 of my containers for over 25 years. Just a thought...

Our buying price was not bad a the time. We bought it before the pandemic and inflation.

@@shedflips - I can touch solid good to great used conex containers for about $3k here in E. TN (should be less for you, so close to the ports)... a 'one trip' (looks new) is about $4500 (here). Whereas, the 12x40 wooden sheds START at about $12k 'delivered' - and can't be moved unless they are 100% emptied. Just a thought, IF you ever consider moving. If our property was laid out differently, I'd do two conex'es on each side, one 'across the back' - and put a domed roof over BETWEEN THEM. Neighbor has that type of set up for his hay & equipment, it's pretty sweet. LOTS of space, and an instant 'warehouse'... but I'd probably put the 'roof' to the OUTSIDE of the conex's - rather than the inside. A bit less 'easily accessible' space, but protects the roofs MORE, and turns the roofs into some additional 'under cover' storage potential. I'm old - figure I *should* (maybe, hopefully) have ONE move left. The only question is WHERE to, at what cost, and how is ALL THE STUFF we have going to get moved too. LOL Conex containers of 'packed inventory' CAN BE MOVED filled, so it's actually a double win (for us), IF we eventually find a place we believe will be better than what we have now. Anyhow... THANK YOU (and your wife) for some great videos. MUCH appreciated! My wife & I have learned a couple things from y'all.

Whenever I sell an electronic item with issues I’ll message the buyer and get a verbal confirmation that they are aware of the issue as described in the listing. I had several folks purchase an item and then claim they didn’t know about an issue even though it was described. They returned it claiming “not as described” which as you know means I paid for shipping both ways. This very quickly becomes cost prohibitive as you also know. It takes a little time but since I’ve been doing it I’ve had no issues. Just a thought.

That is worth mentioning to the buyer. However, when they don't respond, you should still ship. If they make an issue of it, you point them to the item description and if they still want you to pay return shipping, let eBay intervene. It is not your fault that they didn't read the details.

@@tonya4689 yes, I’ve had that situation happen several times. I agree, snd would still ship. Thankfully, most respond. Good point!
