Hello, when I was younger about 7 years old me and my father played this song together. I didn’t really know it but I was just going along with it. Last year he had passed away and now I’m 13 years old learning this song. I’m very happy about myself.

Thanks Joe! Currently out in the UAE and under lockdown (much like yourselves)! Fortunately I took my guitar out here with me. I'm sad to say that it had been gathering dust but now it is very much the focus of my quiet time! Keep rockin' and keep up the good work!

Great teacher, good pace. Just picked up a guitar; never played before and I like how you pick out notes to give it a neat sound. Your strumming the chords over and over helped me get the beat/timing better. Wish my teacher when I was 11 was as good and maybe I would have stuck with guitar then instead of just learning at 49. I will look for more songs you teach I hope you have 38 special and peter frampton on your collection.

Great lesson for a great song! This one works great on my 12-string. One thing I do is on the last line of the chorus between the G and D I throw in an F. So on the "...maaaakin' love to you." I play CC G F D

Hey Joe, first of thank a lot from France for your lessons, you're doing a great job. Just a quick suggestion (if you don't mind constructive criticism) : Maybe you could include a section where you play the whole song, or a least a shortened version, to put all of those sweet licks and ideas into context ! Anyways, please keep them coming, and thanks again !
@JoeMurphysGuitarlessons8 жыл бұрын
+Benjamin Laurent thanks Benjamin, always appreciate feedback, especially the constructive type. Your point is a fair one. I suppose the thing is, sometimes I play the whole track or at least quite a lot and other times I don't, reason being, sometimes I don't have the time to the full thing. But more importantly I think it is so important for the people who watch my videos to check out the cd and piece the song together, that way you develop your listening skills, and so much more. Having said all of that I do see how maybe having the whole song would help. Keep watching and thanks again.

Nice job, nice lesson for beginners. Playing more like the original on electric guitar is exasperating, drop D tuning and the like. Nice just to strum the song. Not exactly the right chord for the end of the intro but works just as well.

I have always played the G chord using my index finger. It's so much better to play it like this. It makes changing to C and F a lot easier. Time to train my brain into the change. Man that change from C to D is mighty fast!
@JoeMurphysGuitarlessons5 жыл бұрын
Yeh it sure is a quick change, remember what I say, practice the difficult passages and the rest usually takes care of itself.

I’ll give you a thumbs up but two corrections. The tag for the chorus is not G to C.. It’s C to G Feel like making [C-D][C-D][C-D] [C]Feel like [G]making love[C-D][C-D][C-D] [C]Feel like [G]making love[C-D][C-D][C-D] [C]Feel like [G]making love[C-D][C-D][C-D] And you forgot the turnaround for the chorus: Feel like [C]ma[C]king [G]love [F]to [D]you
