Out of context, yes, it's a bad advice but Werdum was dominating the stand-up, he was beating him up, dropped him and almost stopped him the previous round. Cain was looking gassed and unable to take much more punishment, the corner figured he could stay in guard, take less damage and try to ground and pound. The problem is, Werdum is one of the best HW grapplers ever, so the alternative was not much better.

Great video. The cornering in the UFC is one of my pet hates. So many seem to have no clue what they are doing and saying. They don't seem to pay attention to THE FIGHTER. Rather, it's very often them talking a mile and minute while the person actually fighting is not paying attention and just trying to get their breath! I agree! It's weird because she was one of my favourite fighters, I cannot believe that one fight could change so much for me. But it was such a frustrating fight and the way she acted every time she evaded a half-assed attack from Esparza. Esparza is the most boring fighter on planet earth but she won that fight and I cannot understand how Rose could have such low fight-IQ in that fight. Only need to watch it once. It was a headbutt that started all of that. I don't think he would have beat Rumble. He would have had to run the whole fight.

That Velasquez advice wasn't bad, Cain was getting picked apart on the feet. He had to take Werdum down, but he just shot a bad shot because he was gassed.

2:49 actually disagree that this was bad advice. Cain was gassed and getting pieced up on the feet so he needed to risk the take down imo. Yes he got caught but he was going to lose anyway

Imma stop you right there. Yan's cornerman was saying "ударь" which means "hit" (without specifying punch or kick). Then Yan asked him "коленом?" which means "knee?". And then cornermen said "бей" which again means hit without specifying either it punch or kick. So it's either Yan's decision to knee instead of punch or Yan misunderstood it

Tony's corner has to be the worst. Like in the Gaethje fight. He kept getting told he was looking beautiful, that he was boxing beautifully, etc when in fact, he was getting smothered. They're the definition of a yes-man.

If I ever were to meet Pat Barry, I want to ask him soooo bad what in the actual fuck about that fight that he thought was going well for Rose and how that could've possibly been a "game plan" that he thought was a sure thing. Even though it wasn't included in this video, he told her between rounds (don't remember which rounds) something along the lines of "You're doing excellent executing the game plan" and to "stick with it". The only thing that baffled me more was him standing cage side watching and somehow thinking she was winning rounds when she literally did nothing all fight long. I respect Pat and Rose but that one still boggles my mind to this very day.
