One point to add about the plugging kit. The T handle used to prep the hole does more than make it bigger. The plugs you will note have a tackiness to them, and you have a tube of adhesive. The T has abrasive serrations that rough up the rubber in the hole, which allows for a much more effective bond between the tire and the plug at a molecular level. So its is very important that you really work it...let it rip!

You guys rock and spot on with your video. I tell my wife every campsite is like Christmas morning there is always a surprise. We recently arrive to our campsite to learn it was very tight. As we survey and discuss our approach to backing in our campsite , we had some other people to walk up to watch and that elevated my nervousness. Thanks to my wife telling me you got this which was a vote of confidence. You are correct patience and communication is the key when backing in your campsite and also good marriage therapy .

I have a Viair and love it. It's super convenient and as you said does a great job filling your tires. It even has extended hoses that can reach back to your trailer tires and fill those also!

a compressor is a Must, I have a Rolo with a small Tank, I have used it on the road and plugged tires. Just make sure you have either enough cord, and/or hose to reach all your RV tires from the battery in the truck, or in your rig if needed.

Each of our vehicles has a patch kit & a plug-in compressor as well as other tools & jacks with blocks. Like Boy Scouts, Firefighters are always prepared too & I was both! ~ LoL

Just as an alternative to the Viair (which is a very good product) I carry a fair number of Milwaukee 18 volt tools with us in our travels. So I have a fair number of their batteries. Their M18 inflator works GREAT for flat truck & RV tires at about half the cost. No cables to hook up to the tow vehicle batteries as well. I imagine other tool manufactures have them as well. Once you're invested in one manufactures battery tool line you kinda stick with it. The batteries are expensive and proprietary.

Good morning. I always look forward to your videos. Feel like family but we have never met. We were on the road a few weeks ago and I was watching to see if we might pass...LOL. I will be 60 in two weeks and my wife and I are looking for our first RV to enjoy some weekend RV life until I retire in a few years. Starting small maybe 24-28 ft towable. We would like to do all 50 states but we will see how that works. Heading to the Tampa RV show tomorrow. Thank you for all your great information. Carrying a plug kit and a compressor is a must. We have a class A diesel pusher. Today we had a blow out on I-10 in Marianna Florida. The dealer had to get the new tire. It took longer than he expected so we wound up staying the night at a local campground. A new tire for a diesel ran us $1285.

Our worst nightmare would be blowing a tire on I10! We actually just bit the bullet and had retrobands installed in the front tires. Makes me feel a little bit less concerned. 🤗

@@turnbullstravels735 Good for you! We have a similar product in our front tires. Fortunately for us this blowout was on the rear. We have a tag axle so we have 3 tires on each of the back sides. So with two good tires we were able to drive the 2 miles to the next exit then 3 miles to a tire store.

C’mon Carl, backing in is easy. I just take the camper off the hitch, lift er up with my left hand, put my right shoulder into it, and shove it into the parking spot. Super easy! 🤔😆

My last trip I had a nail in my tire! It was as we left our site to go to another part of the campground and the truck TPMS went off. Used my plugs (I've carried them since I started driving at 15), pumped it up with my Viair compressor and was good to go!

Love my 2nd Viair. Burned out my 1st one because I didn't leave the truck running to maintain voltage. As the battery was being used up, it's voltage naturally starts to go down, but since power=voltage×current, meant that more current was needed. More current meant more heat and smoked the compressor motor. Woops.

I agree…the ViAir is invaluable. But in order to use it, if you get a flat from a puncture, you also need that patch kit. I’ve got both and it was a great feeling to get compliments the day that this 61 year old, solo woman camper, patched and inflated my right rear truck tire in the campground!! It also amazed me how so many women were blown away that I did it myself. Why? Because I’m a “girl”. Lmao! Get out there ladies and let ‘er rip!! Hi Dex-man!! Kisses!🐾❤️🐾

Congratulations on your 100000!!. A word of caution, you should only plug you tire in a emergency. The proper way is to plug and patch. By plugging only, air can migrate under the inner-liner and cause tire separation and bulges. Also you should never run just a plugged tire on the front. Have a good week. Rick

You guys are great. Grab a pair of locking needle nose pliers. They make pulling whatever is in the tire quicker and easier. If you ever want to come work in Northern CA you'd love our ER, chill and tucked in the Sierra Nevada foothills!

I have a VIAIR and it has its uses but given we have solar power on our RV and the truck has power (of course), I prefer my Craftsman 6 gal./150psi compressor that I can plug in, as it doesn't take nearly as long to air up because it has a small compressor tank. Plus it can be used for air tools, like nail guns. Did I mention, it was only $99 at Lowes? Big difference between the two.

Girls power! Is so important for both travelers to know how to do everything in setting up and taking down the rv. Not sure why dumping the black tank is a gross talking point tho. Caught a large bolt in one of our dual wheels of our class C. My wife was driving and alerted me the TPS was going off. She pulled over and I checked it out first. I do have a plug kit and always carry a jumper box with a tire pump. The bolt was two to three times larger, this would require a double plug. Luckily it was a slow leak. I didn’t want to risk repair not working and headed for a tire shop which was five miles away. $20 bucks and an hour later we were off to continue our single day 570 mile journey. Now if it were our other trip earlier this year, I would repaired it. Since we had no cell service for over 50 miles and ten miles on a dirt road to the RV campground.

St. Augustine - my town! :) We love Harry’s as well. Unfortunately, I don’t think we really have an off-season here. It’s pretty busy with an over abundance of residents and a steady stream of tourists year round. It’s still a wonderful place to live though. Hope you guys had an enjoyable visit!
