There was nothing wrong with the truck driver and his position on the turn. The front wheels were well within the lane but what most drivers of cars don't realise that in a long vehicle the rear wheels do not follow the same track as the front wheels which means that the rear wheels will in most cases of really tight turns need to be over the lines in the road. The car driver needed to anticipate this and not call the driver an idiot when there was nothing else he could have done in this situation.

This is on Bridge Road in Richmond, Melbourne and the road has been updated since this footage was taken; a u-turn might be legal there at the time, but the BMW driver still has to give way to all oncoming traffic, along with any cars entering from the side road opposite. If you drive around like you own the road and no one is allowed to get in front of you - yes you can and the law says the person changing lanes should give way. But that's not practical most of the time when the road is crowded. To really work out what is going on you would have to inspect the road. I don't agree - if there are solid clearly marked lines and followed by poor ones then the poor ones don't count since obviously they would be marked properly the second time round. Often lines are even blacked out and re-appear because the black paint wears out.

2:00ish DC driver is correct. The broken line went to the end of the lane meaning that the merging car from the left must give way. That being said, slowing down a bit to allow the rude driver to pull in front would have cost maybe 2 seconds in travel time, I personally would have backed of as soon as I noticed the driver was an arrogant arsewipe and saved the possibility of an 1/2 to 1 hour delay if there would have been a collision. A case of legalities versus common sense. 13:20 This is type of behaviour is why the NDLFRS "National Driver Licence Facial Recognition Solution" statutes should be broadened. Cycle riders do not have to produce a licence if they are pulled over by the police since riding a bike doesn't require a licence. They can't be held accountable under the current laws if they won't produce any form of identification. If the commonwealth broadened the scope of NDLFRS to allow police to photograph a cycle rider caught doing illegal road maneuvers and compare the photo using the NDFLRS for positive identification and prosecute them for their deliberate continual wrong doings, maybe - just maybe cyclists would pull their heads in and try to become more road user friendly. An example :- In most states it is mandated that all vehicles must leave a meter of clearance (Minimum) when overtaking a cyclist, but at the same time the new cyclist laws don't allow for hindrance of traffic statutes that motor vehicle drivers must adhere to. I'm a truck driver, going down a suburban thoroughfare with stop lights, giveways etc. I can sometimes pass a cyclist following the 1 meter rule, but it is near impossible in a dual lane situation. I can see a cyclist in front of me, I indicate to merge into the right hand lane but drivers won't allow me in. Result is left lane doing 10 to 20 kph until I can legally get around the rider just for them to pass me coming up to the next red light / giveway etc then the whole process starts again. A reasonable cyclist would wait behind me at a set of lights etc, how often does this happen? 2 times out of ten. Cyclists know the laws are circumventable for them by not producing ID so they don't give a shit about legalities and traffic flow as long as they feel safe and get away with being arsewipes. If the police were allowed to take a photo of the cyclist and compare it the NDLFRS for processing of infringements I bet a lot of the cyclists would become reasonable road users and there would be less car vs cycle bullshit on the roads.

nah the DC driver at 2 mins slows down and a gap is created and still growing when the captiva made the decision to merge, the dc driver then aggressively accelerates to make sure the gap small enough so the other car couldnt pull in. we have all been there trying to maintain a reasonable gap while keeping close enough to stop everyone and their dog merging in front but hazard perception would tell you a gap was being created for the captiva and it was expected for them to merge there

@@Ishlacorrin it’s the intersection of Wollombi Rd and Allandale Rd in Cessnock. Where the lanes are is obvious to anyone whose eyesight is sufficient to have a drivers licence. If you can’t see the lane markings on the other side of the intersection then you’re not fit to drive.
@Ishlacorrin3 жыл бұрын
@@philrichmond5919 So the DC driver is not fit to drive? Along with anyone in the second position at the lights? Or anyone watching this video? Don't be stupid, lines going through the intersection should be there as a matter of common sense. You cannot rely on the first driver at the lights not being an idiot.

@@james_zemah Well, I was there and heard him hit the gas. I've got my rigid license and know what engine braking sounds like. Every state in Australia has the same two-abreast law; maybe you should take some time to read them and perhaps a hearing test might be in order.

@@james_zemah Definitely legal to ride 2 abreast as long as they're within 1.5m of each other. There's several special rules for cyclists: www.rms.nsw.gov.au/roads/bicycles/safety-rules/road-rules-for-bicycle-riders.html Also, no way that truck was engine breaking, they were clearly accelerating.

What did the car do at 1.58 isn't the lady with the camera suppose to give way
@ScottsCarcameras3 жыл бұрын
Hi thanks for your question so no the lady with the cameras did have to give way the other car driver did as the lane they were in was ending and they wanted to change lanes and should have waited for the cam car to pass but didn't and failed to give way , the is known as lane end merge type see link for a video that explains in detail :) kzbin.info/www/bejne/qKaVaKWtbN2bpKM

@@ScottsCarcameras thanks for your reply. I was in a similar situation going on an off ramp onto a freeway I was on the left lane ending lane and my car was clearly full length ahead of the car on the right lane and the person reckons to speed up so i won't be able to merge onto the right lane and then onto the freeway. So we were having a squeezing match because I thought they should atleast give me a chance to get into the right lane.
