The first game is indeed a Bad Street Brawler.

The only one of these I’ve played is Bad Street Brawler, which I’ve actually beaten for some reason. In the original computer game you played as a school teacher who went crazy and decided to “clean up” the streets. The circus strongman with a ball and chain was originally an old woman with a purse, and the punk with a bat was an old man with a cane. For the NES port they changed a lot to try to make it seem more heroic, if no less silly. At least that’s one retro game where the insanity is at least partially intentional.

Ooh boy, Days of Thunder is horrendous. It's bad enough that the racing is so boring, but the fact that when you pit, you have to control every person fixing your car almost makes it unplayable.

I remember that nonsense, because the Sandman was literally a one hit kill on the Genesis, I think they tried to throw a gorilla at you as well so the level wasn't a cakewalk completely, once you had ol Sandypants figured out.

When you saw that Beam Software logo, you usually knew you were in for a rough time, and that's if you didn't recognize their soundfont before it even popped up; I do like the sound of a lot of their music, but there's still that association, same as with Ocean. Nightshade wasn't bad, and I'm interested in trying out SNES Shadowrun with that mouse patch; I did also have some fun with Three Stooges on NES, but I wouldn't say it's good...

The name Beam Software didn't ring any bells with me at all, but when Days of Thunder appeared, I sure remembered that game. My friend owned it. We thought the movie was really cool when we were 10 years old, so the game must be cool too, right? Oh dear, oh dear... I had not even heard of the other games. Bad Street Brawler looks particularly ghastly. Did they even try? Good grief!

I had Days Of Thunder when I was a kid, a friend of mine's mom gave me a whole box of NES games that her kids didn't play anymore and that game was among them. I hated that game, easily one of the worst racing games I've ever played.

The mini golf is actually really fun and creative, I grew up owning it. Like any retro game you have to play it for a while to get used to the hit detection and to not fall for the traps. There’s also little tricks like pressing down on the dpad to stop the ball from rolling. I love these AVGN type videos, but sometimes old games get a bad rap unfairly because instruction manuals aren’t read and we just aren’t as patient at we used to be :)

Miniature Golf Madness looked pretty good on paper (in this case, the Nintendo Power issue it was featured in). I kinda like the idea of a golfing side scroller. It's a shame to hear the execution didn't go so well.

I have seen a video about Bad Street Brawler, exactly about the Dos version which review video was made by a hungarian KZbinr with Lambda-sign profile picture. I wouldn't try out that horrible fighting game after watching the review. The NES version seems a lot more fair and better than the DOS version.

I was super excited for Days of Thunder, I was a little kid and I was collecting the hot wheels from the movie and everything, super into it, and man that game was a huge letdown. I think we just popped in RC Pro Am and pretended instead lol. Also if you think Bad Street Brawler sucks, try it with the Power Glove as intended, it was adapted for it special.

Oh, I think there are far worse from them in Back to the Future series and Power Punch. Nightshade and Smash TV are some awesome ones from Beam. You also gotta give a little slack to Bad Street Brawler though as computer games never really transfer over to NES hardware well for most of them at least.

Although they didn't execute it right, I find it unique for a player to need to "escort" a golf ball around a level. But it's odd to make it an Itchy and Scratchy game. It might have worked better with a random golfer as the main character while marketed as a puzzle game for golfers.

Yeah they've been shorter, but I've actually been putting out content roughly every two weeks where before that it could be as long as a month in between videos. This time though it was three weeks in between due to going out of town, but yeah. It's helping me be a little more consistent actually. If I do a letsplay or something though in the future then it will be as long as it needs to be.
