I love this game. How old I feel, Castlevania is the saga that I have always played, the one that made me buy consoles just for playing the only game that came out for that console. I have all the games, NES, GBA, Advance, Super NES, SEGA, 64, PS, 3DS, Japan Exclusive, Saturn etc etc. Castlevania 64 was one of those that I played over and over again since for the first time you could tour the castle in all its spaces and be able to look everywhere in 3D. The story is very good for introducing parallel characters to the Belmont clan. Besides the classics and of course Symphony OTN, 64 is one of those I played many times and finished many times (without exaggeration, I repeat it is my favorite game saga). That grand finale with an awesome version of Dracula! Any Castlevania I played, always with every possible character in the game and their alternate final 100% versions and hard modes. This is one of them where you will find different endings and hidden things depending on the time. I am glad that young people can talk about this great game, as curiously I realized that most of those who hate this game did not finish it. I like the music a lot, it is a little more sinister and different from the others. Here is an important point because those who hate this game for saying that it is not like the NESo SNES (my favorites of course) do not really understand that the saga is very big and grew in character history as they have no idea. You just have to play the Advance and GB DS ones to see how it has grown and changed in music art and styles. I really love this saga and C64 is one that I keep special memories, I would tell you that the camera issue you adapt in the first hour of play, it is something that many criticize and it really is not that complex. Legacy of Darkness is a great game too but it really feels like patches, more characters and more endings are included. I hope you really finish them and convince yourself that they are great games away from those who only criticize them and have not even played them in full. Greetings I hope you can talk more about Castlevania.

I wrote the AVGN video on this particular game. I gave up on the Nitro part. I never knew about going up into the attic and that you had to take the symbol off the wall. I guess its nice to finally have some closure on that. I’m sure people left us comments years ago how to get through it. But seeing it explained in video form is really what I needed to understand it. Thank god for your chat right? I feel the same way sometimes on stream when I get hopelessly stuck. Its nice to have the chat there as back up. Overall, watching you play through this game again, I still feel like I dont really like this one that much. Id rather play the NES games, Chronicles or Rondo any day of the week. That said, I do think this game is really interesting because its so absolutely bizarre. Oh and I saw footage one time that showed a grim reaper. I’m assuming thats on a Reinhardt run of the game?
@SharonisCarin3213 жыл бұрын
Yes. Carrie focuses on Actrise who is insisting on Carrie give her soul to Dracula. But Carrie is unaware of the meaning Reinhardt is trying to redeem his Belmont name since Richter Belmont disgraces their name after bring possessed by Shaft in Symphony of the Night. 2:01 ... the only games that comes in my mind about warning the player are Marvel Super Heroes (the game warns you in Auto mode that the game ends after the 3rd match if you pick said option), Gradius 3 arcade version (playable on Ps2 and PSP) if you pick the easy ("training" mode), the game warns you (before you decide to pick the option) that once you beat the stage 3 boss is game over, the GBA port of Contra 3: The Alien Wars (the game ends after you beat Stage 4 on Easy without warning), NES Double Dragon 2 the game stops after stage 3 on easy, after the actual final stage on normal BEFORE you can fight the Shadow Warrior in his "stage" and also Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story movie adaptation... the game will only allow you to play the full game on default settings or higher difficulty, anything lower than that the game stops depending on how low is the difficulty. 6:21 ... Rosa appears again... with Reinhardt only (who also is a boss instead of the unnamed Fernandez Warrior in Castle Center). Yeah, the camera issues is were Legacy of Darkness outshines the vanilla game (not perfect but way much better overall), because you can ACTUALLY say *censored* you to the fixed camera in the places the game activates them and keep the normal camera (of course, boss fights excluded) which helps a lot in the actual stages.

i just want to inform you, the story of reinhardt is a bit different from carrie's, and one of the characters actually becomes his love interest, which is absent from carrie's story. also there's alternate costumes but most people miss how to get them ive always been a defender of this game, granted i grew up with it alongside turok and banjo-kazooie so im not bothered by the graphics or camera, but fuuuck this games so good, and if you use an emulator you can make it look sharper and crisper and get a better look at some finer details the original on your CRT wouldnt show ya theres also a huge speedrunning community for this game!

13:50, Erin, that’s just the standard procedure to make Roast Beef, you run around shooting bolts of magic at a Cow till it gets roasted.

I believe those weird pits in the floor of the castle are supposed to be dirt instead of stone. The lesser vampires can bury themselves there during the day to protect from sunlight and to sleep

Remember Dracula castle, full of inventions. Dracula is kind of scientist an personificates the end o medieval period of focus on the church and beggining of modern science that is the beggining was a mix of sorcery and technologic discoveries

If you enjoy these old gothic horror games you might like to try Koudelka, if you haven't already.

Wow that just took me back. I remember renting it but never finishing it.

@@WizardOnAWhale7 It was unique at the time, interesting story and setting, not very many games are based in wales, and at the time unique game mechanics, but pretty dated now. Shaolin was another great unique game back then, way ahead of its time and obviously testing/reaching the limits of the original playstation.

looks interesting!

@@ErinPlays Oh yay, attention! Ok, Shaolin was another favourite as a fighting game it was fairly generic with the mechanics itself (nothing wrong with them), what made it unique was that it was I think the 1st game that incorporated a full RP expereince in that your character ages and their weight/look changes according to how much you eat or don't eat, you could chose male or female character, depending on how you do in fights your stats improve accordingly along with your fighting style, and there were 8 fighting styles (they all required different play styles) each kung-fu style having it's own (minimal but fun) storyline and depending if you were male or female gave 2 different storylines within each fighting style... it also allowed upto I think 16 (might have been more) players to fight in an arena. However, because it was basically at the limits of what the original playstation could do (the graphics were fantastic for the time as well) there are loading screens...a lot of loading screens... many, many loading screens...long loading screens... you had to be very patient to play this game, but it was still a good game... just so many long loading screens XD

Oh cool, you put the whole gameplay video on another channel. I'm down to fallow, I saw you play on twitch, happy to see you edit it down, IT'S SUCH A WEIRD GAME! No wonder why I went to Symphony instead.

The dodge jumps (side dodge/rear dodge) and the camera angles are definitely a disaster in this game... If they had worked these points better the game would be awesome. I'm an indie game developer, and I admire the ideas of Castlevania2 and 64 Your videos are very good!!!

Loved this video! Castlevania N64 is my least favorite. It was just too difficult for me. Castlevania 4 for the SNES is my favorite! Thank you from West Virginia!👍❤️

Back when I was going to upgrade from the SNES I had my heart set on the N64 since I was a nintendo fanboy but after playing the Mario game I decided to get a Playstation instead. And looking at the Castlevania games the N64 got after getting Symphony of the Night I knew I made the right choice.
