I seriously loved those plugins, especially the filter which had a overdrive that could go so much "over" that I am running out of ways to describe it. You could probably break speakers with it. I bought 2nd versions to get a nostalgy trip, which are more tempered but still crazy. Considering this 2nd edition Waldorf Collection is easily available, cheap, it has VERY usable emulation of PPG 2.3 and Attack, it is very much under the radar of everyone, it would definately make sense to make episode from the both editions.

@@7177YT It's worth checking out the demos of the patch sets Waldorf sell for the Blofeld. They show it can cover a broad range of sounds. I find that programming it is very easy - despite the fairly small set of controls it is very well thought out with the way the controls and screen interacts.

I see the Zoom FX still in good use. I was going to get one of these but ended up getting a PiSound hat and case to run MOD UI from Blokas. Not a hardware based solution but this is amazing for price. The setup with Pi and case is about 200 euro. But you get over 300 sound FX, synths and MIDI tools that you can patch in lots of crazy ways. And once you set it up to run in MOD UI mode it just boots up in seconds and is ready to go like hardware standalone. And pressing the button switches between presets of FX patches. You can patch and edit the FX with any browser on the same wifi; I use a hotspot on smart phone and connect for laptop to that same hotspot and patch away. This setup gives stereo in and out and midi in and out, patch the midi in MOD UI for thru, input gain knob and level knob, plus the button that is programmable. It has low latency and on a Pi 4 4gb lots of power and memory, not hit limits with some crazy patching running off 5v USB. And can run at 192k, for tighter latency but less resources - for a tight guitar FX unit. I currently use in on the output of a Lyra 8 for crazy reverb, and I am thinking of getting a few more for other instruments. Best 200 euro I have spent - apart from that time in Amsterdam, but we don't talk about that. This is really just a ModDevices MOD Duo X for a faction of the price.

However if I run a synth without midi into it, then the midi out from it into my phrase lab in bass mode, then run my talking machine stomp box off the phrase lab audio out I can get crazy robot chorus lines going with my synth. Everything is modular in my book 😁

This synth comes with non unlikability, I'd dare say noone who used it hated it. The thing you really underplayed in your video is the amount of powerful brainmelting sound it can output. Sounds almost too tame in the demo parts 🤔
@AudioPilz4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it can really produce some heavy sounds. Rejected Synths video about it?

Also, massive congratiolations on your stellar success! It's great to see someone very successfully singing the praise of all those 'bad' synths! There is great things to be found in every machine, even if you have to look very closely with some machines 😜

I remember the "Waldorf attack". I would definitely like to see a video on that!👍 It'd be cool to track down the actual Hardware rack version of it? That one's a bit of a rarity.

I know what you mean. I always one of those high-end Analog or virtual analog drum synthesizers!👌 I always had a dream/fantasy I'm no drummer or musician by any means,😅 but I always wanted to Pull a cEvin Key and have a electronic drum synthesizer kit with all kinds of different electronic drum pads midi connected to multiple drum synthesizer racks like the "Waldorf attack" Or the Korg "er-1 Mk 2" I guess? Since I'm hoping the MK2 has more options?😅 And especially the "jomox airbase 99". To play that thing on a electronic drum kit would be awesome!
