I had a similar issue with the pocket clip/lock bar cutout on a custom knife from SDK. I reached out to him about it and he ended up just making a longer pocket clip for me that extended past the lock bar cutout and solved the issue entirely. Excellent customer service from him!

Im glad you said that about a "truly custom " folder being a bit ruff sometimes . Especially When its not a multi thousand dollar Art piece . Like when I got the plain jane Curtiss f3 slim mid compund ground. I Immediately loved it . Mainly for the magnacut high heat treatment . I did clean up some edges . but no worries to me. But talking to Others, boy they were freaking out and so pissed be cause it cost a bit over $600 and there's a small lip on the top edge of the spine . And the back spacer still had grind marks on it. And they flipped out sent it back to the retailer with the comment "This is just completely unacceptable piece of garbage ". But It really isn't. .. Mines been used hard and tuff as a pine knot . Also Made me a big magnacut fan boy also. Im digging these tantos to !

Both are good looking knives, on the custom the heat treat is usually better as the maker has taken the time to perfect that heat treat process on a given piece of steel and smaller batches being done, not all the time but usually. Production is going to have better fit and finish due to machines having crazy good tolerances doing CNC work. Depends on what you value more, but for the price the production one is very tempting not to mention availability is going to be much better than the custom one. Thanks for the great vid Jerad and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable
