Summary: A bewitching and beautiful Indian half-caste, Liah, takes her revenge on four ruthless cowboy desperadoes who have gunned down her husband for the sheer joy of killing. I have three guesses on why all four "heroes" are killed, 1) Some sort of Hayes Code "Bad guys can't win" type situation within the studio. 2) Because the writer and/or director simply wanted a "kill them all" ending. or 3) They died, because they did nothing to rein in the other two.

Just a suggested tweak or three for the proposed relocation project: 1 Relocate to Kansas so the characters can spend 30% of the run time arguing over whether Kansas is the West, the Midwest, the Lower Plains, or No Place Like Home. (Also, I'll have a reasonable commute to the location shooting.) 2 Your Science Advisor can play the un-Jesus guy b/c that's the way science works in this here West/Midwest/&c. 3 Have the Dark Lord of Science reappear just after the gang leader departs but before Eye Candy makes the third kill. That way, Dark Lord and Eye Candy can cooperate to kill Young Sprout and set up an extended action scene between Gang Leader and the two supernatural beings, where Gang Leader knows he's totally overmatched but he strategizes his head off like Arnold in "Predator" and ultimately does kill Eye Candy. Dark Lord then says to Gang Leader, "I give up: You totally scare me," and retires to wherever he goes to respawn. Sets up a sequel nicely, and I am sorry about that.

It would be fun to have a movie like this set on an abandoned movie lot. The characters wander from one abandoned set or façade to the next, fighting using discarded props. The cast consist of a film buff who wants to preserve everything on the lot for posterity, a burglar who wants to find stuff to sell off to cover their sister's cancer treatments, a real estate developer who wants to set fire to the lot so that they can buy it for cheap and turn it into a strip mall, a deranged former movie star who wants to live in the lot amid the remnants of their glory days, and a security guard whose job is to keep the rest of them out. Someone or something starts picking them off one at a time in ways that recreate scenes from the movies shot on the lot.

One of those elements has kind of already been used. A made for TV movie, "The Phantom of Hollywood" (1974) has Jack Cassidy playing an actor disfigured by an on-set pyrotechnic, living on a backlot when demolition starts. He starts killing people to try and prevent the demolition. It was filmed when the MGM backlot 2 (where many classic musicals were filmed) was actually being demolished

"She's had a bad day." Understatement of the century. While a bit far-fetched, I've always thought that Ridley Scott's Alien, is essentially a haunted house tale. Travelers come upon a deserted house (spaceship), haunted by dark deeds (pilot's corpse) and the evil follows the travelers when they leave (xenomorph). Ridley Scott even seems to revisit these themes in Prometheus, complete with ghosts (holographic Engineers).
@julietfischer5056

The abandoned house/ship/fortress/whatever with a monster or other dark secret is another trope. Plenty of SF movies before it had aliens terrorizing the crew. Pulp fiction magazines were full of stories of varying quality, usually with intrepid white men (and obligatory white women) disturbing things best left alone.

I think somewhere in the Florida Keys. Not exactly scary, and why did the guy return when he could have stayed away? Sheesh.

I think pre-world war one in the old west would be a great setting. We could see the old west dying off and the rise of technology that would define the 20th century. Kind of like BIG JAKE with Lovecraft monsters. And BTW , if its made out of stones, it ain;t cabin, its a house.

Some of the last 'Wild West' activities were between 1900 and WWI. The region had been parceled out, the Native Americans confined to ever-shrinking reservations (thanks to government and legal shenanigans), and there was no room for the train robbers, bank robbers, bandits, and old-school ranchers and cowboys.

They were still there, ranchers, cowboys, and bank robbers were still there.@@julietfischer5056

The other two stood idly up while it happened so they are just as guilty. It’s like when a good cop stands by while there partner commits atrocities
