If memory serves, the Pocket Camp items are acquired via an eShop DLC code that you get from Pocket Camp. Once it’s redeemed. You shouldn’t have to worry about it if you reset your island or migrate to another system.

You need a Nintendo account, but don’t need to have a Switch Online subscription. I believe I had to do the tutorial for Pocket camp, link my account, and then I was able to open the MyNintendo rewards menu in the game and view the rewards available. One of them will be the New Horizons items. Once redeemed, the code was either presented in the app, or was emailed to me shortly after.

Migrating to a new system implies that you’re using the same account you initially put the DLC on. My point was that the Pocket Camp items were registered to your account in the form of a “purchased” DLC. Once it’s on there, it’s on there.

Even though they’re not supporting ACNH anymore, I really think it would be good to release a patch so we could continue to get these items. But you know Nintendo. They want you to stop playing their old stuff and move on to their newer titles. This is why they want Smash fans to stop playing Melee so badly by wanting to shut down Melee tournaments, and why they’ll never release the old mainline Pokémon games to the NSO, no matter how badly we want them. Anyway, I’ll have to get as many of these as I can before they’re gone. Seriously, not cool. For me, the campsite sign is especially important for each island I make.

@@silverbane8065 Logically yes, if they are tied to the nintendo account they should still be available, like a form of free DLC, since if I remember, you had to enter a code given from Pocket Camp to redeem with your Nintendo Account. It's actually a good point that I didn't initially thought about. Maybe there will be a AC YouTuer that will test that in the future.

Problems with that include not being able to change your island name to fit the aesthetic, your own name, or the Dream Address of your previous aesthetic. Better to restart. And have more than one Switch to transfer items you need from one island to the other.

It personally don't affect me because I'll never reset and I don't decorate, I'm more of a grinding/resources type, about 75% of my island is fruits trees, vegetables and flowers. the other 25% is just the buildings, villager's house and my profiles house (all 8).

Its weird, i connected my pocket camp to my switch a long time ago, and even got friends recommended based on it, but no items ever appeared. I always thought i was doing something wrong. Since then ive reset my island, long lost access to pocket camp and lent my acnh cartrige to a friend. Even if i wanted them now, its impossible

I believe I lost access long before they discontinued pocket camp. I stopped playing and when I checked back, it said it wasn't compatible with my phone anymore. By then I had got myself a switch. I did some finicky stuff and got it linked. I guess I never really had a chance, huh. Pocket camp is where I met my favourite villager Dotty. I loved the way her beady black eyes turned red, when she was excited. But it doesn't have quite the same charm in acnh. The low-poly on a small phone screen... The memories of all the decorating, the clutter, the cosy cramped clutter, that filled filled my camp and cabin (and villagers couldn't navigate). I always secretly hoped that mabey when Id eventually have to upgrade my phone, I could see it all again.

It isn’t the first time I've lost a game to compatability either. I tend to favor older models for a reason. I've seen all of the Pocket Camp items and even all variations of the modern camper and vintage camper on treasure islands, and by the way, they are customizable with just the customization kits. You don't even have to get Cyrus to do it for you. I hope this helps anyone who needs them.

Done and done. Guide is simple and easy to follow. Note: my phone did not display the full image, the right hand edges were gone, likely due to it being old (lol) but so long as the buttons and your 16 digit code is visible you should be okay. (Some countries may not be able to get the items it says. UK is fine as that's where I am, code was redeemed and download was downloaded fine)

Once they've ran the course of an item on a game they plan to make a sequel of in the near future they move on from it. Just don't reset your islands and you'll have them forever or up until your SD card or Switch bricks

You can't redeem the code again but you can redownload the stuff from your account on the eshop. So i don't think they're going away forever, you just can't get them for your account after.

@21cormorants you don't redeem the code again. You go to your account (on the eshop on switch, not the same place as code redeeming) and try to redownload. It'll show as acnh dlc, it won't detail what it is, but will be using the acnh logo. Your cartridge doesn't matter, I also have a new switch and cart.

It's the same thing happened with City Folks after they stopped the wifi gifts where you couldn't get the items after 2012 as well New Leaf suffered the same fate when they stopped the wifi gifts just a year later after the game release date and some items needed the Nintendo Zone at certain locations to get those items but luckily the Action Replay makes up for the rare Nintendo Zone items. This shouldn't be surprising that Nintendo ditch Animal Crossing online gifts where the only main option is get now because your options getting it is most likely never going to happen later on.

I don't even have pocket camp, but i still horded those items weeks ago before this news from treasure islands. I've been getting stuff just in case anything going into 2025 because who knows what will happen when they make new game announcements, and i will not be stuck in a game that depends heavily on trading with missing items! Nookazon is getting less traffic, there are less people available to trade, and treasure islands will one day stop existing, so stock up while you can!

Nintendo is taking "One step forward and two steps back" approach on Animal Crossing. One step for the merch, two steps back for the software... Same goes for the collaborations. The sum of it all equals to: more merch, more collaborations, but no updates. I’d think people who’ve already claimed these items and connected them to their NSO accounts would have access to these items even after having reset their islands after Pocket Camp has shut down. I’ve always had the intention of restarting my island on Switch 2 to play with the better visuals/framerates, I’ve reset once and still have these items available. Nintendo could add these patched in with a Switch 2 update or could add these directly on EShop as a free dlc “purchase” for future gamers.

I used to play animal crossing on the ds then the Wii when I was a kid, and I did play a bit of pocket camp when it first came out, but I got on the acnh train pretty late cause I didn’t have a switch. I knew they were shutting down pocket camp, but I never would’ve known about these items if it weren’t for this video. Being the completionist that I am I immediately ran to the App Store to redownload the game and follow all the steps. Thanks for this!!

If you recently bought an Animal Crossing: New Horizons edition Switch Lite that comes with a digital free download of the full game than all of the Pocket Camp DLC should already be installed in your game forever. You can literally get a free ANCH full game with free Pocket Camp DLC until November 28th 2024!

On pocket camp, if you have your Nintendo Account linked, you click the button with the 4 squares, then click the My Nintendo button, then find the New Horizons Special Order Ticket reward, click on it, redeem it, then you get a code. Redeem the code in the eShop on your Switch, then you should be able to find the items in New Horizons.
