I personally didn't run into them, just the menu bugs I mentioned in the review that I didn't think were bad enough to not recommend the game. With that said, I did want to let others know about gameplay bugs being reported. This game is super challenging which I like but I've played on hard and normal several times each and haven't even got to 75% through yet. My biggest gripe is that there is absolutely nothing carried over between playthroughs. Like nothing. Pure rouguelike. If I turned the game on now, there wouldn't be any indication that I've even played it. Also the ability screens UI is clunky. If you are on the fence, I would recommend waiting for a sale or an update, otherwise the actual gameplay is fantastic.

I died at 80% and freaking screamed lol. That's sort of the nature with roguelikes though, only time I usually progressions carried over is when they fuse with the Metroidvania genre. Also good to see confirmation on the ui feeling weird. That's an issue I didn't really see anyone else talk about on Twitter.

But ideally I wish there was even the tiniest bit of carry over if not just to make the early game go by faster. Looking forward to beating it without any outside help or research. Will definitely feel like a good accomplishment

Thanks, this game is added on my wish list to make sure I don't miss sales (because I bought too many games, cannot afford to get them at full price :/). The presentation seems minimalist yet sharp, perfect for a Switch fit.

is it true the game acts as a roguelike, so if you die do you really need to start all over from zero? if so i fear it might become boring since the first battles will always be slower and easier until you get more troops.

I know the game it's amazing. it looks fun but i guess i'm on that gamer section that it's a bit tired of rogue games fad. I'll probably get the game but i want to first check to see if prison architect that also came out monday is good on the switch or not.

You do have to start over if you lose all your troops. The one time I did die was at the half way mark of the game but it's not to hard or long to restart your progress.

What is the longevity of the game? And it reminds me of Santorini.

Never played Santorini so I can't make that comparison but it ultimately depends on your own playthrough. You can take longer routes through the island or just go down a straight line. You can also die and lose your entire army and have to restart so there's a lot of variation there. The islands themselves are procedural generated too. Hard to give an average number in this case. I don't think you'll find it short though and the content is there for the price.

9/10 seems incredibly high considering the various bugs and performance issues in the game and generally poor menu systems. It’s fun and it looks good... when it works.

I never ran into the bugs that are being reported online, only issue I had was the weird menu slowdowns I mentioned in the review. Didn't think they were bad enough to ruin the game though.

@@jasondp3546 I'm not the person to judge Stardew. I hated it. I didn't like the lack of direction at the very beginning. I got bored quick. I just don't have the time for Harvest Moon style games. But that's my opinion. I play bad north in short bursts, a few islands at a time. It's more comparable to Kingdom new lands. Also, bad north has the best use of touchscreen on the Switch.

I was going to pass on this but after seeing your review and gameplay I really want it. The only thing I wished you changed was the music you played during the whole video. It was pretty irritating. Short, creppy and high pitched music clip. 😑 thanks again for the vid but I hope you don’t play music like that again. 👍

I like to use music from the actual game for every review. This was like the one clean track without any sound effects. I agree though not my favorite track to accompany a voice over 😅. Appreciate the feedback.
