This is a great album. I didn't think I'd enjoy it as much as I did. Some of their other songs would be better examples of the overall vibe of the album imo

Love this song, it was actually my most played on Spotify this year haha. "Artificial Suicide" is more about unplugging from the constant technology like social media. "You hate the shape when you have to see an unfamiliar face on an all black screen" is a good summary of the song as a whole, I think. If you were to just delete your Twitter, Instagram, etc, it's basically committing artificial suicide. This is one of their heavier ones but there's plenty of stuff that's more melodic and whatnot that I think you guys would dig. "The Death of Peace of Mind" is my personal favorite. Great reaction!

Absolutely love Bad Omens! They opened for Godsmack earlier this year in Denver and that's how I found them. You guys need to try Like a Villain, Just Pretend and The Death of Peace and Mind. They are ridiculously talented.

I am glad to see you get into Bad Omens, even if it is obviously not your jam; sometimes, it is more interesting to hear an unfavorable opinion than a good one, when it is politely done and decently argumented. To be fair to the band though, I don't think they ever considered themselves a "true" metalcore band and the evolution in their sound was gradual. Usually, I am drawn to a band for the harsher songs and tend to skip the softer ones, but it is the exact opposite with The death of piece of mind, because the mix of heavy and soft is very tastefully done, at least in my opinion. I hope that "Like a villain" or "Concrete jungle" are on Judson's sister list, because they give a much better idea of Noah's vocal range, which it is probably the most interesting thing about Bad Omens.

Would love to see some Be'lakor! They're one of my favorite bands of all time, up there with TBDM (though different styles). Songs I'd suggest as starters: -Countless Skies -In Parting -An Ember's Arc -Much More Was Lost Those second 2 are part of concept albums that tell stories. An Ember's Arc is the start of a story for its album, so there's no needed context other than "it continues from there". Much More Was Lost is the last song of its album, so just for context the people that the kids come across in their adventures in that song are references to victims of tragic lives in the other songs. It's about the kids losing their innocence and blissful ignorance of the sadness of the world so to speak. The album as a whole is a collection of tragic stories of people living around a mountain over time.

I've been enjoying going thru your channel the past few days after discovering it w/ your "Orion" video. Really good stuff you got here. I'd like to suggest a couple songs I think would be interesting and might work here. First, "Endarkenment" by Anaal Nathrakh and second, "Drone Corpse Aviator" by Archspire. Both, I think would have an appeal to a classically trained musician while still being incredibly challenging, punishing metal tracks. Regardless, keep up the good work and good luck!

Hi guys. Since Judson seemed a little disappointed by Devin Townsend's lack of guitar virtuosity during Deadhead, perhaps you could check out the song "Deconstruction" by the Devin Townsend Project, from the album of the same name. It is Devin at his most chaotic and intense and I think both of you might get a kick out of it.

Would Bring Me The Horizon be an example of the kind of band you’re talking about departing from their early metalcore roots? 😂 I would recommend their 2013 and 2015 albums if i didn’t think you’d turn your noses up to it.

This is the last song on the album and also the heaviest... also my least favorite even though I can't say exactly why. It's just not as interesting as the rest of the album.... just a big heavy finisher I guess. I was obsessed with this album last year and it's pretty great from start to finish. WHEN YOU DO "LIKE A VILLAIN" make sure to do "What It Cost" together with it, it's a shorter interlude kind of track that leads into Like a Villain both musically and lyrically. Also regarding the discussion - from interviews I've seen with Noah he felt like he really opened up vocally on this album and seemed pretty proud of it and like he was "trapped" on past albums to just do screaming and not expand into singing territory much, so this is his "finding his voice" album. I think of it as "The Weeknd meets metalcore" lol... poppy catchy metalcore? But it's pretty well done IMO and the album as a whole is a nice work of art. Also some of these songs he wrote on freakin Twitch live streams with fan contributions to lyrics and stuff, how cool is that?
