For about musical influence, specially in complexity on guitar playing,Strung Out is more influenced by Iron Maiden. But for influence other bands,of course Bad Religion. I love these two bands, and total respect for Iron Maiden to influence the general music, also to win a mention in this post.

This band is a powerhouse...a true enigma within a genre full of legends. I am honoured and fortunate to know their music...to have spent time pouring through a dictionary to decipher their lyrics from my childhood into adulthood. Their music has inspired me to think and research...it will truly be a sad day when they decide they are done.

"Bad religions always been about conveying the same message. Which is basically, society sucks.. if you don't encourage education, and enlightenment, and open-mindedness. Any time you enter a period in society where those messages are crushed or where the inspiration is gone, you enter the darker chapters of history. We wanted to, once again, with this record, light the flame; the candle of enlightenment. And hopefully ppl will listen this time." - Greg Graffin interview Well put. This is by no means an insult, but I agree totally with Jay. The album was great at first, but it has only grown on me more and more with each listen. I realize with each listen that is a culmination of all their years and experiments with sound. It is a great balance of tempos and sounds and just a really great album. Each song hooks you in a different way. Not only are the songs good, but they sound interesting in a way that sucks you in. They are fun to listen to. They are fun to sing along with. The lyrics really hit the nail on the head. The reverb and the guitars and vocals and the new percussion sound combine to make something really special.

Interestingly, when I first heard these guys in a music store in 1994, I thought they were boring. But then I got their album "All Ages" as a gift and absolutely loved Bad Religion from then on. The music grew on me, the lyrics were real, and their vocal harmonies put them on another other level. Now they are my favorite punk band of all time.
