As a teacher there are parts of it that are relatable. The scene where she’s grading papers and she’s writing WTF on them made me die of laughter because every teacher has had that moment. Regarding all of the other stuff, it is completely unrealistic. We have appraisal systems, and no teacher could get away with showing a movie every day for months. Even the shittiest teachers don’t get away with an iota of what she does, so I just take it as the fiction that it is. I know your comment is 2 years old but ugh, why is this the reality? I’m a teacher in the UK and we’re not allowed to leave the kids unsupervised so we can’t use the bathroom during lessons. During morning break (recess) we’re usually on break duty so we have to be outside with the kids (again, barely any time to run to the bathroom as otherwise they’d be unsupervised). That means we usually go from before 8am when the kids arrive to lunchtime (usually around 12.30) without having peed ALL MORNING. The amount of UTIs, bladder infections and general dehydration among teachers is unreal and so unhealthy.

I won't fault people for liking this film, it's not badly written, I just can't get behind how horrible of a person this character is. At no point did I want her to succeed. A huge part of writing is character development and they were super lazy with it at the end and she faced no consequences. Not to mention the things she did were so incredibly unforgivable, even criminal and very triggering. Even how she treated the kids, sure she had her moments but it didn't balance out with the times she was also incredibly dismissive and unsupportive. That's the psychological aspect of emotional abuse from authority figures. You're always going back and forth between, 'oh they hurt me but this one time they also did this one thing so they obviously care,' and that's something kids hold onto and carry well into their adulthood. It's just...no, she needs to face time for some of the things she's done(and I don't even believe in prison as a system.)

Elizabeth is awful but we Stan a flawed female protagonist who doesn’t die in the end.

I agree. It's good to show that women don't always have to be kind, considerate, lady like and perfect. We can be just the opposite too lol

That's true, at least Elizabeth SOMEWHAT becomes a better person in the end, and accepts herself.

Did you guys realize the actress who played Lynn (Phyllis Smith) provided the voice of "Sadness" in "Inside Out?" And you miss the "easter egg" to Cameron's hit movie "There's Something About Mary," where Mary kept saying to Ted (Ben Stiller)"i'm fucking with you."

I kinda like when a bad character is bad. There are people who are just plain evil lol. But she did actually change which is more realistic lol at least to me. Also the romantic interest ew just plain ew.

I just found your channel last week and I've been binging your videos. Ya'll CRACK me up! 😂 In all seriousness though, I really appreciate that you two point out abusive behavior and/or inappropriate situations. It's very clear to me that you two have genuine respect for women. You are so appreciated! 💙

Ok I’ve rewatched this video more than a couple times and I have a hot take, I feel like women are criticized and demonized for being gold diggers, but men who only care about looks aren’t demonized in the same extent, like is it a crime that Elizabeth is looking for a rich men even tho his personalities doesn’t match with hers when men do the same but for a hot girl? Like the gym teacher only reason (at the beginning at least) for being so insistent on Elizabeth is because she is hot, she blew him off multiple times and as you say she is rough around the edges at least in the eyes of the gym teacher, but he doesn’t mind cuz she is hot, even tho their personalities seem to match better later on, so is the gym teacher a nice person who is giving a chance to a bad person or is he willing to endure her personality faults just because she’s hot? Just something I wanted to take out my mind lol
@lilscenechick19952 жыл бұрын
There's definitely a huge double standard involved when people criticize "gold diggers". Men can expect sexual favors in exchange for a relatively cheap date, but women can't be sex workers (and be paid wayyyy more for their time) without being shamed. Using people for money, or sex, while manipulating and misleading them is 100% wrong. But when both people know what they're in for (companionship/sex in exchange for compensation), I don't see how that's bad. For the record: Amy is a bad person lol. How she treats people is awful, but if she went about things differently she's not wrong for wanting a boob job or a sugar daddy.
@strell6891 Жыл бұрын
@lilscenechick1995 there is something called self respect . Both sugar daddy and gold diggers don't have any .okay it's their choice or whatever.. but don't sugarcoat it.

I didn't remember this movie but when I saw the thumbnail I was like WAIT A SEC I SAW THIS MOVIE years ago on tv. But I didn't remember much so I went to wikipedia to read the plot and now I remember and I'm excited! Such a funny movie. What I wonder is how did you find it, or remember it, or who suggested it to you? (I'm commenting this before watching, maybe you answer this in the video) Because it's such an obscure movie.

Lol that western bar they go to is like a mile and a half from me. It’s called Cowboy Palace. It’s notorious for being a GHB hub. You do not get a drink there if you’re a chick, from a dude/leave it out of your sight for a second/leave it uncovered at all.
