Here's a thought. Cut up the sail and sell pieces of it to fans. Maybe sign the pieces...individually or the entire crew. Memorabilia for them and a way to recoup the cost to replace.

Jack, what an impressive man you have become. I've followed Zatara for years and watched you grow. I'm 69 and would be proud to have a grandson like you. I watch the way you direct your crew and impressively how you accept responsibility for your perceived errors. Your parents have done a fine job guiding you. I would hire you anytime to Captain my boat. Kind regards, from Toronto

I don't normally comment but I was just thinking the same thing. Keep up the good work, proud to see you going to get your license complete. Im not sure, but by now this might probably seem all somewhat normal for you but I promise you're going to find this is probably one of the best things you've ever done in your life. I don't know if this helps any but one of the best things I like about your episodes is the education of the sailing situations in details that we don't normally hear. Keep up the good work! I'm anticipating you and your sister are probably going to be a team sailing about in the next chapter of your lives. If I can give you any advice, and I don't think I need to after the example set by your parents, family is number one and nothing else matters. Stay close and don't miss a minute of anything that is important to them. Do whatever you can to make the Christmas', the birthdays, and the baseball games of not just your own children but your nieces and nephews. My last advice to be will be the best two quotes I've ever heard and were the KISS theory.. "KEEP IT'S SIMPLE STUPID", and "DON'T SWEAT THE SMALL SHIT..... BECAUSE IT'S ALL SMALL SHIT". Good luck and keep the wind at your back!

To tell your father you messed up yet alone the entire world on KZbin truly shows what an amazing young man you are. We all make mistakes it not about how expensive the mistake was, but that you choose to own your mistake. That is what separate the boys form the men. You have not only become an adult but truly an amazing young human.

Welcome home Jack, family & Luke...welcome to Miami! That was a beautiful heartwarming full crew effort by all.👍 Could have been worse. Zatara gave you her best and she came in, in style. Others made it here for freedom with a lot less, on tires tied together with ropes, cardboard & plywood...whatever floats. Whatever & however you make it ashore, you stop and give sincere thanks to the Lord above for getting you there. You all had many people all over the world praying for your safe passages for years. Those of us who did give thanks to God now for returning you all safely home. Soooooo looking forward to all of your future adventures. 🐳🐬🐟⛵ In Hebrews 6:19 God lets us know that our hope is sure and steadfast as a well placed, secure and unbending anchor. Our anchor is not located in the deepest sea, but in the Highest Heaven.⚓🙏🕊🌺

Actually Jack, making it for 7+ yrs without blowing out a sail is pretty amazing. Still sucks. I remember racing to Hawaii and I was steering and we rounded down with a 1.5oz shoot up, it twisted around the headstay like an hourglass. In the heavy air, no getting it down. I had to go up the mast on a Peterson 48 and cut down a $10k sail. I felt horrible for the owner...happens. Enjoy USA and good luck on the Captain License!

They're just friends. Glory isn't ready to settle yet, her eyes and sights are elsewhere, she's got too much she wants to do and see for herself first. Have some of her own adventures, create her own story's, make her own memories just as she is now. They just teased the viewers on the camera for fun, and people read too much into what wasn't there. Jack is right to follow his own dreams, go to Tonga, and with Kate with him they'll do it all just fine. The perfect combo. A well rounded sensible lad is Jack. He knows, IF, It is meant to be btwn J & G - it will happen, - all in good time. And in the meantime getting his Cptns Ticket and paving a career for himself, will stand himself in good favour for 'any future love interest. 'n Jack, If/when you should read this .. All the best going forward pal, I watch on as you go seek do achieve. Conceive - Believe - Achieve. < It works every time! edit: *j.ust.

@@MikeB-gf6dj I understand your point Mr.Mike however Im not asking that Glori give up her hopes and dreams but its very obvious thats she wants to sail and she loves the family and she has feelings for Jack people see beyond the cliffhanger I remember that feeling its a very longing feeling empty broken hearted and she would still be there if she didn't have to go the the crap our country is putting her through i get it but you know they dont put nearly half the people thru this but of course thats why they are illegals but thats a whole other story I dont wish to get into. My point is I hope they dont walk away from someone thats special and deeper than we all even know and listen who saying they cant do there dreams together a lot of us do our dreams together its what makes us stronger happier for some but if that's all it is was a cliffhanger and for more ratings and views then so be it ..thanks Mike for the conversation it was a pleasure.

May not be your family's thing, but just a thought. With the torn sail being an iconic part of your home and life for a long time, and kinda marking the end of that time or transition into you individual ongoing journeys, maybe instead of tossing the sail, maybe use the material to make something for each of you to take with you, a symbolic piece of home, family and memories. Maybe a hat, bag, wallet or even a patch to put on a jacket or hat or whatever else y'all may think of. God bless, enjoy and live life well. Given your upbringing, it seems less like to be an issue or succumbing to peer-pressure to put on facades that aren't you to meet the perceived expectations of others, but two thing to remember: 1) We rarely live up to all of our own expectations that we put on ourselves, so don't bother trying to live up to others. which leads to 2) There's only one you. And if you won't be yourself, no one else will be and the world will never have the chance to to know and experience you, not you the chance to know the fulness of experiences and opportunities you could have had. Maybe that's just a wordy way of saying YOLO, but it's true. Please share this post with your family if it seems to hold the possibility of value of wisdom. Cheers!

We were in that crummy weather on our cruise ship, luckily we were one of the only ships that were able to land at ports. Damaged vessel leaving passengers in Ocho Rios, CoCo Key evacuated. Luckily we just had deck chairs flying around while we were out at sea.

Maybe the Universe scripted for everything to go sour right at the last. Think about it...if everything about the last leg was perfect, it would have been a lot harder realizing the magical voyage was over. This way, everyone is probably, on some level, glad it is. Welcome home.

Well, cut up the sail and offer them as souvenirs during the boat show.

Yes! That logo would be awesome to have! Living my life out through your family! As the oilfield crashed and burned the same dream of my family. We all went to the Miami Boat show back in 1983. Going to pick the dream boat. As my Dad gets the call that the Captain has run his oilfield offshore vessel aground and burn the engines! Dream dead! Been a fun ride watching your awesome family live out the same dream!

The sail was purposely destroyed for content. They're getting a new one soon during their long stay in the US.
