Tommy Vext tells the harrowing story behind Bad Wolves’ ‘Remember When,’ a song inspired by his twin brother, who broke into Tommy’s apartment in 2010 and sent him to the hospital. Vext discusses his process of healing and notes that that incident inspired him to help others by becoming a sober companion. “This song is really like an open letter to him,” Vext tells us.

It's really sad what drugs do to people. And some question why I have very little faith and desire to 'help' those addicted. It's because of things like this. My best friend died due to drugs, no matter what I did to try and steer him towards a better path. I have an actual family member who's life has been riddled with stealing and using the rest of us for their own selfish desires. And no matter what we did to try and 'help' them, it never changed. You can only try and help for so long before the inevitable truth comes out. You can't help those who refuse to help themselves.

I am 40 years old and I have a older brother only by a year but that turned him into the bigger brother. He was the foundation that kept most of our family together. And I don't say that metaphorically I mean he literally single-handedly as we grew up took me and my sister protect us. He also would hide us during drug induced Violence by our parents and a very young age she was just a protector. At an age where kids should be playing hide and seek and video games he is trying to feed us hide us from our mother that was very badly addicted to drugs but my point is with this happening to mr. Vet I could imagine it because I literally would not be here if it wasn't for my brother. Sorry for the long boo who story
@mynameisill8384
@mynameisill8384 5 жыл бұрын
Nothing boo hoo about it. Just expressing your emotions and story. Idk why people think it's a crime to say what's on your mind. I'm hoping not to run down a life full of failure. And everyone worries about me cause I have an addicted personality and intend to follow people on some things. Just hoping it never gets to the exceeded level.

My sister is a dangerous psychopath.I couldn't even address it or accept it until recently.vShes 4years older than me and I think she became a psychopath with deep hatred toward me as her 4yr olds brain reacted to not receiving the same amount of my parents attention.They were and narcissists,and as their kids,we were neglected,in that my pare ts already felt extremely put upon by the responsibility of two kids.They were resentful that they couldn't do exactly what they wanted,when they wanted without going thru the major hassle of coordinating chd care,with their activities.My mother was an only child who had been indulged and spoiled into her adulthood. So I think that me being the new family member,and by the sheer fact that babies need more attention,in that they need feedings,diaper changes,etc(whether the parents actually love their baby or not..if they don't want to end up in jail for starving a baby to death...they have to take at least a min.amt of time to take care of it)that my sister processed my arrival,as a threat to having her basic emotional needs met,and having learned boundaries of behaviour,she was fundame tally aware that it was forbidden to wipe me off the face of the Earth,in spite of her compelling desire to do so.I think that the two opposing concepts: The baby is threatening my survival...If I kill the baby then I will still threaten my survival. She developed extreme hatred for me,which was based in fear. Because maybe no one explained to her at 4years old,that the baby will only need extra attn.temporarily. All she knew was that I was the reason for her receiving insuficient attention that was required in order for her mind to remain same,.he. e,her survival was threatened. From my first memory of being alive,my sister was extremely hateful towards me.In childhood,she would explain to me how bad,strange,terrible I was ..and I believed hwr.Because I didn't know that someone could...-or would have motivation--to say something that was not true. It developed into manipulating me,gaslighting me,stealing from me and on rare occasions when I would question her motives--such as being caught red-handed stealing my allowance,..she would hatefully spew venome,as if I am responsible because I'm so terrible,and i would believe her entitlement,because subconsciously knew I deserved whatever it was,because I was bad......I never thought about...what exactly have I done to believe I'm inherently bad?. I can only guess,that,as time,decades went by,that my psyche wouldn't and couldn't acknowledge or accept,that I had allowed and assisted my sister to brutalize me,repeatedly,inflict cruelty, slander me,steal from me,destroy my relationships,and had tirelessly worked to destroy me and end my life. At some point,I decided that hating myself and joining in on creating the narrative about myself which satisfied my sister,and allowed her to create and maintain a narrative about herself;....rather than to know that I had suffered at the hands of a psychopath who held such a profound hatred toward me.

This poor dude can't catch a break. First his Mom walked out, his Dad was never there and his TWIN killed him!?!? WTF? Now, he is basically HOMELESS!!! And this isn't the first time. I saw a thing on here that, in order to tour, he had to get rid of his apt., Car etc...People think Rock Stars are all rich. Not anymore. The only way they make my net is concerts and the few people who actually buy their music! Well and maybe some merch. But, it's not like I'm the past where people waited at music stores to buy your music. It's leaked or posted and shared. So all of that money is in the wind. Anyway, Tommy is a brave, strong sou!!! For him to be e able to look at all of this as such a learning experience is truly unbelievable!!!
