How do you know that the person you killed didn't have loved ones who might be provoked because of your actions? That is not what happen. During that whole interaction she has no idea what he is saying because he is speaking demi-human, she is speaking common. She is going off his facial expression. The anime has been really bad showcasing the language barrier from when he speaks with other people. In the end when her voice gets all broken, that is because she is trying to speak in demi-human to beg for mercy however she doesn't know how to speak demi-human so its all broken.
