This was a timely video for me. I am looking at their short rack and also the one from JCR. My big concern is how high the top of the rack is above the top of the MIC top. I don't want to loose the ability to pull in to the garage. I do like the extra accessories that you can bolt on to the BA rack. JCR is planning some for theirs, but have not released anything yet.

BadAss Advertises 3.1” from top. I measured and it is exact.

You can order with black bars. It is $100 extra but it will then be an all black rack. We opted for silver since we are going to bolt stuff on all over the place and didn’t want to have damaged powder coating.

I know you mentioned you had ski rack previously, with this Badass rack, what are you using and how does it function when you just have the half rack on the Bronco?

I am using the Yakima 6 rack with universal mounts. It works great with the Bad Ass Tents bars.

I see you guys made your decision! I enjoyed your initial video on what was out there in the market. Thanks for this install video for the BadAss rails and I’ll likely be buying these since the Ford OEM rails I’ve had on order here in Canada since March have not arrived yet! I’ve been reviewing these and the JCRs as well but your video showing how easy they are to install is the decider! I’ve a question, do you know if you can get fixtures to run along the extruded cross bars, similar to the Rhino Rack or the Yakima LockNload systems? Thanks so much!

It’s interesting. Yes, most universal clips should work with this rack, including Yakima, Thule, and others. Also, the extruded bars can use T-Nuts (or T-slot as they are sometimes known) for a minimalistic look. They slide into the extrusions and are flush. That’s how the windscreen and my light-bar are attached. It’s a super versatile setup. I am a rack nerd from the 80’s and this rack gives us an unlimited amount of mounting options. Super excited to show its capabilities.

@@alpinegarage8548 Thank you for your timely response. Good news about the T-slots; that’ll give such a range of options for everyone. For me, I’ve got a Thule box and will likely throw traction boards up there. Is the light bar BadAss too?
