To echo what many others in the comments have said, this car deserves to be preserved. I love to cut up, chop, customize, hot rod, and personalize cars just as much as the next guy, but some cars just aren't the one. Ford did a beautiful job on this car. I would paint the door, and color match and blend the paint to make it look like it never happened. I'd touch up a few spots, and get the flathead running whatever the cost. There's nothing wrong with doing some fixing up on it and parking it next to that custom car collection, and simply enjoying it's original beauty. It doesn't need a SBC or hubcaps, it's already a work of art.

I put a 283 in a 34 5 window in 1969. The worst part is you have to cut the firewall for distributor clearance! Bad Bad Bad for this car. Use a 38 or 39 transmission(stronger.) A mercury pressure plate will bolt to the Chevy flywheel. Ford will not. Adapter and pilot bushing are needed to bolt up trans. Hurstptor mounts bolt to the front of the block & the stock mounts. That car is too nice to cut! Chad said if you need it more thane- let me know. I called- Hope he got my message 😊

What a find! And you deserve it. You keep on the lookout for nice old cars. And you do have an appreciation for special old cars, such as that nice Oldsmobile classic. I would like that one. How amazing was that, when cleaning off the "cracks" like magic. You don't need to "restore" this car any more than providing basic repair and maintenance. Before you even think about changing out that engine, get the flathead running! I'm pretty sure a LOT of your viewers would love to watch that project. Engine locked up? Probably a bit of rust holding the piston rings in the cylinders. Not like that engine was out in the rain, filled with rusting water. There will plenty advice on all the things you can start pouring in through the spark plug holes to free up the pistons. Start with the rust penetrating oils. Get a long funnel into the spark plug holes and fill the cylinders up. Then, let them soak for days. Keep 'em filled up. Maybe some occasional small/moderate hammer taps on the breaker bar you have on the crankshaft. And if after several days of that, well, you can go up ta acid. This may necessitate at least new rings and a cylinder honing, but you have to get the engine to turn, even for a full rebuild (which would be very cool too). Certainly interesting "content"! Once you get the engine turning, then you can clean the carburetor (as well as the basic gas tank cleansing), put in new plugs AND wires (those old insulators may not insulate too well any more.). Your engine guy can deal with the basic starting needs. Fun to see it fire up, and take it our for a spin, "as is". One nice thing about not "restoring" the car, is it can be a useable, running car! Take it to the store. That is really enjoying it.

The world of automobiles has witnessed countless creations that transcend the mere concept of transportation to become true works of art. These machines, designed with care, precision, and profound technical expertise, reflect a perfect blend of engineering and design. However, not all of these gems find a destiny worthy of their historical and cultural value. Such is the case of this coupé, whose arrival in the hands of a craftsman without the necessary skills to appreciate its significance is a true affront to automotive heritage. Each line of its design, each curve and each component were meticulously crafted not only to convey speed and performance but also elegance and sophistication. Vehicles of this caliber are not mere products; they are the culmination of decades of innovation, tradition, and an unwavering pursuit of perfection. To see such a masterpiece subjected to interventions that disregard its original essence is, in itself, an act of cultural negligence.

But wow it looked 100 times better getting it cleaned up. Please brother dont chop this one. And i dont say this much. But this one does deserve not to be chopped!! I've never seen a Bad Chad episode where the subject car was restored. It is a different kind of process than making a chopped/channeled radical custom. This '34 Cabriolet Roadster would be a excellent candidate. As mentioned by others, these are somewhat rarer and now harder to fine, especially as complete as this one is. You could update the mechanicals and then apply a concours quality paint job. It would make a very handsome cruiser.

Chad, Jolene, & Fina, the Cabriolet looks 200% better just from the little bit of cleaning! I believe that you guys indicated that his garage was heated and if so I would not think the engine would be badly stuck. I would pull the plugs and as I said dump a little Marvel Mystery oil in the cylinders or even some regular oil. If that does not work then go with a penetrant and lubricant like oil and trans fluid. I totally agree with you just paint the door, the decklid, and the spot on the left 1/4 panel. Chad I am surprised that you don't care for the louvers in the hood, but I think they might be necessary for engine cooling. Jolene great job on everything that you do you are definitely a hard worker! Say hi to Fina for me!

Wow! You’ve got yourself a real beauty right there. As much as I appreciate the customizations you build I really think it would be a shame to modify that car one bit. I’ve seen a few others commenting similarly too. I don’t have the money to buy or restore that car but you certainly do. I hope someone is willing to buy it from you or you restore it back to original.
