Invincible is the teenage son of Omni-Man, an extraterrestrial superhero of the Viltrumite race. Invincible inherited his father’s superhuman strength and ability to fly and he has sworn to protect the Earth. I think from the beginning it was meant to be obvious that Mark and Amber wouldn’t work out. But it was important for both of them to go through that relationship. Even with love, patients, and respect things didn’t work out. Amber is a human without powers and Mark is has powers plus also being half alien. And sadly he got dragged with the viltrimites conquering greed.

Basically the Viltrimites plan of essentially Blitzkrieging the planet they wanted to conquer with a large fighting force was unsustainable at the rate at which they wanted to expand the Empire. Trusted Officers were each given a planet to takeover by any means far more efficient then what they did to win Unopa.

In case you miss the message of the show, the heroes are failing. I'm not saying Vilty are the good guys, but this is a cartoon made on the basis that human is the good guy and will triumph. Of course, they are not gonna make Vilty benevolent. But look at it this way, a superior race both physically and technologically is coming to conquer humans. Human stands no chance to fight back. Humans are currently on a self-destructive path where the future looks grim. A superior race offers solutions and order for their rule. You can try to fight back and die by billions, or submit and maybe die by a hundred thousand or less. What is a smart choice? And let's not go Mark's route like we need to make our own decision or freedom bullshit. Even in the current world, you have no freedom. You have to abide by the rules of society you are living in. You can only have the freedom to do what doesn't matter, the decision to do what is said to be acceptable by society. FYI, I'm team human. But a good point is a good point.

I wish Mark asked her what the downsides are. There probably is a lotta truth, but there are obviously downsides. At least ask he to show her hand, its easier to discuss with her if all the cards are on the table. More info is better than less info, and perhaps you can plant seeds of rebellion with her if she has any capability for empathy(even if it takes 1000 years).
