Two things I noticed: Symbolism of the Boot - the planet (and life) recovering out of the abandoned footprint of humanity Wall-E inspired others to step outside conformity and into individuality. His authenticity was contagious and made each character more memorable and exciting. From Eva to the waving receptionist robot.

Autos actions are never an oversight of those who made him, not a glitch caused by conflicting directives. Everything he does is by design and by the order of his superiors. It's only his lack of flexibility or independence that puts him in conflict with the protagonists who adapt and learn. His rigidity to protocol comes up with the fact he could have easily disposed of the plant without ever letting the captain know it was found, but directive dictates the captain is informed about a positive probe. It had to wiggle around the two directives to get by.

@@zybch Auto was certainly a nod to HAL. they didn't need to add depth to Auto because anyone familiar with HAL would immediately make the correlation, and to do the same thing with Auto would just be redundant and take up screen time in an already pretty long animated movie

@@maximillianosabenI fear you missed the rest of the movie's message. It did not point blame, as it didn't depict the humans as lazy - "lazy" implies a task that's not getting done. _What task, though?_ Everything's automated. Generations have passed since Override A113 began without anyone's knowledge. The Captain's competent and curious, Mary's genuinely interested in the pool, and everyone chips in to help baton-pass the plant to the holodetector by the end. That baton pass also includes machines, also broken from _their_ routines. _WALL-E_ isn't about whose fault it is - it's too focused about how easy it is to nudge each other from routine and start fixing it. It's telling you that any day routine's got you feeling down and out, you can put on your Sunday clothes

What I love about Wall-E is that it conveys all this real emotion, especially in the first without a main character speaking a word ... Not many movies can do that. There aren't any characters speaking until they get to the ship, besides singing on a TV and a Buy-N-Large TV announcement. Love love love Wall-E - Such a good movie to be able to make you invested before anything really happens. Also all the callbacks to the early part of the movie are really nice too. A beautiful cautionary tell about how we treat our planet. Y'all have to get around to Inside Out before long and the new Puss in Boots movie is so freaking good.

The movie was incredible at the theater, especially the scene when they were first flying through space. The most striking thing though is that a HUGE chunk of the movie lacked dialogue aside from some beeps and boops that resembled some words. In fact, the score was the main thing you even heard all the way until they got to the ship.

A little while later when the stores stopped having the big posters in store for it, a few of the guys in class "saved" one of the very big vinyl posters from a dumpster. I haven’t seen since this I was v young and watching it now, I didn’t even remember this plot. This is a great movie for very little dialogue.

I was 12/13 when Wall-E came out. I definitely, as with probably moat kids, didn't appreciate it as much as I do now. Or even just as I got older. My dad and I would watch it sometimes as I grew up. And each time I appciated it a little more. It's always been a film that's made me cry.. I'm a very empathic person. The sadness wall e felt when Eve was gone has always just hit me.. I've also always had anxiety. As someone who grew up with only my dad. It always made me think.. what If my dad was just suddenly gone. Obviously that's a pretty shitty thought for a kid 😅 But it also made me appreciate him more. Which is never something I lacked.. I always felt lucky to have him. That he was the one that stayed in my life. Aaanywayy, I do definitely remember wall E coming out. And I've always loved it. And it's always made me cry

One of my all-time favorite movies!!! It's a lot of watching reactions to this one :D Instantly fell in love with it when I first watched, especially cause Wall-E looks a little like Number 5 from Short Circuit (another one of my faves), glad you got remembered of that as well :D

Kid me watching WALL-E: CUTE ROBOT GO BRRRR! Adult me watching WALL-E: Still, Cute robot go brrrr…but this movie is so much more brilliant than just a cute robot love story, and even that part is beautiful and ties into all the messages brilliantly!

Guys, one thing I hoped you guys would bring up was, what was in the cup that they were all eating because they only took supplies for 5 years initially and as it was pointed out they were out in space for 710 years so where did they get food from or water?

This one made me emotional. I’m not a fan of emotional movies but this one was cute. And I don’t use the word “cute” often

This is a Disney movie that makes you forget it’s a Disney movie. The movie doesn’t guarantee there will be a happy Disney ending, even though there kinda has to be.

You guys should do Lilo And stitch, its kinda similar to this in terms of classic kids movies with space. Or Treasure planet, that one is a bit more artsy
