I'm confused on you guys saying the execution of Hughes wouldn't have worked in the way he planned to do it. Hughes goes to the bathroom with men hiding in the shadows during a public event with kids around, always? Not without the knowledge that Polly slipped do I see that being the case. Oak mentioning that and Quinn/Dave shrugging it off seems odd lol. Tommy only told Polly he was going to do it and he wouldn't expect her of all people to blab, especially to another man of the cloth. Otherwise always enjoying the reactions lads. Getting your skull fractured and being able to carry on that long to complete the task at hand is crazy.

Polly felt the need to confess to the priest because as a religious woman of that era, she has an indomitable level of respect for the Church as an institution, & so perceived killing a Holy man as particularly sinful. Remember alcohol dampens one's discretion & judgement, hence along with her feelings of guilt about it, offloading in a confessional was a given.

Personally, I do see Mason Quinn's point. It felt a bit off to me too when Linda appeared with Arthur. Some girls like a ''bad boy'' but Linda doesn't seem like that. I'm only watching PB with Badd Medicine so I don't know any back story or any future happenings. So I'm intrigued as to how this is going to play out!

During Tommy's wedding, Arthur said that he has the love of a good woman. My guess is that Arthur was looking for a good woman. Arthur's character is the most conflicted in the series, you will see.

Polly was drunk because of the burden of carrying the knowledge of the plan to kill a priest...she does have faith...so not at her best. Because she is religious, she had every reason to believe that the priest she confessed to would not break the seal of confession. Priests aren't supposed to breathe a word of anything they hear in confession...it's not a minor rule infraction...it is supposed to result in not just being fired, but being excommunicated from the Catholic Church...not just a big deal, but the BIGGEST deal...especially for a priest. Imagine spending much of your life giving Communion and then being barred from taking Communion yourself. No Last Rites. Not being permitted to be buried in consecrated ground. So, the priest violating the sanctity of Confession for a friend and risking his eternal soul is NOT something that Polly would have thought probable even if she had been sober. Polly isn't to blame for unburdening her soul...that's the point of confession. The priest is 100% to blame. If the priest doesn't break the seal of confession, Father Hughes doesn't find out and Tommy's plan to kill him would have worked. Remember, Tommy researches his enemies. He would have tailed him previously and found out what sort of security he rolled with. You're forgetting who Tommy is.
