This show does such an amazing job of making your skin crawl, but it’s all a symbolism for something. Doppelgänger was filling a void he thought he needed, but every time he’s slowly getting rid of his crutches. Oak has to get familiar with being uncomfortable 😂

Thanks for the clarification. I just wanted to help prep Oak for things to come. I've seen my RL friends have the same reaction as him during certain scenes, and they eventually had enough and checked out from watching the show.
