36:57 for those who don't know,. Wesley Snipes's portrayal of "Blade" in 1998 quite literally saved Marvel studios! 🤯
@billbill60942 ай бұрын
Literally the savior, there is no MCU, there are no X-Men movies, there is no _Spider-Man Trilogy_ without Blade. Not only did he singlehandedly save Marvel Studios, he changed the perception of superhero movies and put respect on their name long before The Dark Knight Trilogy, and he did it by making it a genuine action movie in a generation where action was one of the most respected genres. Superhero movies before used to absolutely fail when it came to action, then Blade came through with a genuine martial arts superstar in the lead.
@rowanmayfair92492 ай бұрын
@billbill6094 Yes! This is in NO WAY meant to take anything from Chadwick Boseman, who will forever be Black Panther, Wesley Snipes and Blade were the first black comic book live action adaptation and stands to this day. Snipes proved that here. It did upset me at the time that Snipes was conveniently "forgotten," and man, the look from DP when Blade says he will always be the only Blade broke my heart. I don't want a new Blade. The original is amazing. It's similar to how I feel about The Crow...ffs people just quit trying!!! They can't stop. Definition of insanity. There are some that are just untouchable. Respect it. 😂😂😂 By far second favorite cameo. The first being more than one person but still, a unit. Blake Lively and all 3 of their children. Something they can all look back on, it will make for a great story.

Blake Lively as Lady Deadpool wasn’t something thought of for just this movie, Rob Liefeld said he based Ladypool on Blake Lively because he and his wife were obsessed with Gossip Girl and he said in a dreamworld, the only person he would think of to cast for her is Blake. But after a very long time, seeing different variations of it, and seeing it truly perfected in this movie, I can’t imagine seeing Wolverine wearing any other costume in battle, besides the brown and tan. I did recently learn that the reason why wolverine wears such a bright yellow suit is because he wants to draw the attention of any enemies that he fights so that way they are focused on him and not any of his friends, allies, or any civilians, because he’ll take all of that pain if it means he will spare others from harm.

Channing's accent is exactly how tried and true Cajuns talk. He was Gambit all the way. He was definitely the 90's cartoon version. Not the new 97 one, which i personally do not like. Channing also has Cajun roots and was born down south. Trust and believe, he did amazing as the character, and i wish we could have a movie with him. Again, it's a fabulous reaction, and i can't wait for the next one. 😊

I think X-men 97 tried too hard to be "Adult," and alienated some people who grew up with the show... I don't want to say how many, I just know I was one of them when certain characters died and certain early "revelations" and all the stuff with Logan at the end, even though it was adapted from an actual comic book series but still... I never read it, so to me they just kinda ruined my 90's Wolverine.

I really just wish they didn't put the whole Magneto affair thing in. Completely out of nowhere, ruined a very good will they won't they that was clearly going ti be a "will they", and doesn't make any sense with the timeline of the original series. Unless it happened when Rogue was a kid and Mystique let that happen. And tbh the writing and commentary on bigotry got worse in '97, instead of teaching a lesson through action Magneto just gives a speech about it in space. The original cartoon was explicit about it but there's just a certain finesse and realism the reboot missed.

So many people try and put down Channing's accent but it's actually spot on. The character is Cajun from New Orleans so he speaks Cajun English and Louisana French. Fantastic reaction! Certainly the most genuinely lively and enthusiastic I've seen so far! Always a treat watching you guys. The one part of DP&W I initially didn't like was the concept of an anchor being, I thought it was just silly in a bad way. Then I finally got Disney+ a couple of weeks ago (I'm making the most of their sale to play catch up) and watched Loki for the first time and now it makes a brilliant kind of sense; Loki as God of Stories is holding the multiverse together through his powers over time, but, his time magic uses people as an anchor ("It's not what, or why, it's who."). So it makes sense that it's through people that he is holding the multiverse together, and if a universe looses the one or more people that Loki was holding on to with no one to replace them, it makes sense that their universe would start to wither. Clever!
@w1975b3 ай бұрын
Speaking of anchor beings, it didn't make sense to me for Logan to sacrifice himself at the end (what he wanted to do) because DP's universe would still cease to be. That was the whole reason DP brought him to his universe/timeline, to be the new anchor.
@shadowjewel3 ай бұрын
@@w1975b I think at that point they were more concerned with the immediate threat of dying and/or the universe and multiverse getting wiped out. Without the time ripper they had thousands of years from their POV to find a solution if replacing that timelines original Logan didn't work. As it is I wager their actions cemented both DP and W as joint anchors.

My issue with Cavill being the new Wolvie is that he has become the new beacon of nerdom, which is really a testament to his acting and desire to make lore accurate nerd shit. I think he would be awesome as Wolverine, but he was also awesome as Geralt and Superman and probably any other nerdy role. We need more people like him and Reynolds who are passionate about the hero they portray.

The grandiose wide armed expressions, the manic joy of his villainous monologues and the sort of sheepish little responses to the quips even.
