this went from kinky to homicidal real quick omg.. there's something so inexplicably satisfying and peaceful about this song though, the instrumental is so calming... the person from whose perspective he's speaking has done some horrible things yet the way he sings it is somehow so full of regret and so defeated that it makes you want to feel compassion for him. it's like a confession that finally sets him free. weirdly beautiful. gives me radiohead (maybe karma police) vibes for some reason..

Yeah, I picture the image of the girl, tied in rope, barely clothed, so probably raped first, full of blood and begging for her life, and all my compassion disappear. Badflower did a brillant illustration of rape culture, or how you can forgive to a murderer by erasing the horror of what he did and giving him excuses to justify his behaviors. And I'm not blaming them at all !! I truly think it's a brilliant and sad piesce of art! But I'm just sad to see how pretty music can serve with success the killer of the song...

Badflower, the Black Keys, and the Fratellis really make up the 99% of that hope, unless you want to count early 2000s and late 90s bands, in which case, there's also the Vines. All of which I highly recommend. That's coming from a hipster that mostly loves the 60s and 70s, so I'd consider it a fairly potent recommendation.

A good song, like a good character in a book, is easy to sympathize with. A great song, like a great character in a book, takes TIME to sympathize with fully. That is the beauty of bands like Badflower and Seether. On the surface, they look like shitty pop rock (or, in Seether's case, like shitty hard rock), but once you listen a couple of times you begin to appreciate that they actually care a deep and powerful message, much like Benjamin Tod and the Lost Dog Street Band do for country music. Badflower is an amazing badn that I can't wait to watch explode, though the truly passionate and skilled artists rarely do...
@myownmusic81825 жыл бұрын
These songs are so amazing BECAUSE you have to look deeper. Truly great songs require you to listen hard to understand their true meanings. Songs like Mother Love by Queen, which was essentially Freddie Mercury's goodbye, or Fine Again by Seether, they don't have very obvious and up-front meanings - well, Seether does, but only the tip of the iceberg is readily available.

i'm 60 years old, grew up with 70's music, and dont get me wrong...nobody compares really to floyd and zeppelin, but the more i watch videos of these guys, the more i like them. the singer and whoever wrote the lyrics is very talented. especially if you compare them to most of the shite out there today! love it, especially "ghost"...

I remember this video popped up in my recommended one day and being instantly obsessed. Luckily, the new album was coming out. I listened to it and was impressed to say the least. I know pretty much more than half of the lyrics on that album. I’m so glad I found you guys, it got me through a lot!
