As someone who was raised by a step dad and had a biological father that wasn’t present, I *completely* agree with Santino. My “step dad” is my real dad in every single way, he raised me.. I would give anything for him. Anyone can be a father, it takes a real man to be present and be a DAD. This episode made me emotional.

As someone who has a side of the family that sucks, Bobby’s perspective really pissed me off. My biological mother is a toxic piece of shit and my stepmom has been in my life way longer. My stepmom is my mom. She raised me to be the man I am today and it pisses me off that people put so much stock in someone who just got fucked or fucked someone else and then didn’t do shit after that, when there are people who are willing to step up and take on responsibility that isn’t even on them.

I’m always shocked to hear stories about mom’s walking away from their own children. It’s equally shitty no matter which parent abandons but imo there’s something darker about a mother doing it because arguably there is suppose to be a deeper connection, like you carried those children for 9 months, took care of them as infants, etc. and none of that imprinted?? Sounds psychopathic. I wish you the best of luck, you’re a great and honorable man for pulling through for your kiddos.

Hey! Former Cremation Operator here!! The cleaning of the Cremator after a body has been cremated is one of the most important things in the industry. Rest assured that you most likely only have your loved ones in your box. We also have a multitude of tools at our disposal to clean it out. Brooms, brushes, & tools that resemble garden hoes. Also most ashes are the bones… after the remains have been cremated a lot of bones are left over. They actually crumble to dust after being broken down with the hoe and and are apart of the ashes you receive. Its probably very hard to notice the difference to the untrained eye, but if you see any kind of chunks or pebbles that is bones.. Have a good day, Bad Friends!! P.s. I love you all

Mortician here: It’s not possible to 100% clean out the ashes of every individual. Majority of retorts (incinerators) are made with a porous brick material so there is always residual “ashes” from prior cremations. We do what is called a “sweep” then take what we have gathered from the sweep of the crematory and put that within what’s called a processor (bone grinder) and following that, that’s what gives you the “ashes” you receive from the funeral home. Also…. If there are differences in ashes…. It’s typically contributed to the temperature or the readiness of the cremation process itself…. If someone was not cremated at the correct temp or duration it could leave you with a darker almost charcoal like appearance. Other differences that can be apparent are typically in the size of the cremation segments themselves; this is attributed to the processor that was used at the time. 😅😊❤ Feel free to ask questions peeps ;)

Andrew was spot on with the I’m a man and your a man that made me. It’s complicated. It’s a completely different level of respect you have for a man you call your father. I’m on the recieving end of this situation with a father that wasn’t there and I’m on the right side of providing this situation to a child that will some day have the same “respect” for their biological father regardless of the relationship into adulthood. POINT IS: Be a good Dad not just a father and do the righteous thing when it comes to being a part of your child’s life regardless of the situation that you are in.

My parents divorced and my dad went and created an entire other family and basically acted like I didn’t exist anymore so he got switched off, don’t care or think about him. He called once and my mother was like your dad is on the phone and I thought about it for a second and I told her I’m good and walked away, never heard from him again. It was like he was waiting for an excuse to disappear so I gave it to him. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Andrew talking about his father is so accurate. My biological father still tries to guilt or find ways to cause issues and sadly it took years for me to just realize, you can't change people and can only do your part to learn and be better.

Great description of real fatherhood. For life. That’s what you sign up for. My dad and I have a 50 year difference and the physical and mental abuse my mom and I received from him caused the divorce when I was 2 and he basically shut off as a my dad at that point. Now I’m a father and I couldn’t imagine leaving my child. I had to take that childhood trauma so that I could be strong for my family as a man and empathetic, present father to my kid. My father never did that and I grew up without him. And that doesn’t define who I am or how I parent. Love you Bobby and Andrew you guys bring joy to the world.

I understand both. Guilt runs deep in Asian culture. That’s why even if Bobby’s father wasn’t great he still feels like he owes his dad everything. Hence the line “he gave you life”. Guilted from childhood will do that to ya.

The reason 1:11:36 ghosts exist and we bury the dead is so they don’t “haunt the living” which is actually referring to the trauma that we are left with when we experience death. It lingers. So we built systems to deal with our feelings in a way that puts the trauma to rest. Ghosts are just a metaphor for the trauma we feel left over. So if you don’t give a shit about people then there are no ghosts in your world, but if you ever feel guilty about the dead then there are for sure ghosts that will haunt you.
